The demons that work in our world thrive in Washington, D.C., where corruption, lies, secrets, and deceit run rampant. It is up to Father Luke, a trained exorcist, to remove the demons and protect all that he loves and cares about in this world.

The author, Dan Gindlesperger crafts an engaging and immersive narrative through the depth and detail of both the story and its characters. He draws on real-life emotions and beliefs of deception, lies, turmoil, and greed in Washington, D.C., portraying them in a realistic manner. I found that his main character, Father Luke, to be likable and well-developed. Gindlesperger is deliberate in his character and narrative development, using vivid details to bring the story to life. His immersive writing style keeps listeners thoroughly captivated.

The narrators, M. Jeffrey Howard and R.B. Lee, work well together providing an immersive experience with each word. They effortlessly slip into each role/character and project the desired effect. Their deliberate delivery is meant to keep the listener on the edge of their chair.

This is a mesmerizing tale that I recommend to any horror enthusiast.

Going in I knew this was AI written, not my type of read. But I was surprised that the author did do a good deal of editing and balanced most of the AI generated issues. The main downfall is that the chapters all (40million of them) are way too short and not filled with enough substance. A book like this would have been better if there were a few more details and action scenes along with more dialogue with substance. Adult books of this nature should have no less than 2500 words per chapter but pushing more into the 4500-5k realm. Overall the story is there.
The audiobook narrator had 'that voice' to pull off a priest. The special effects for the character's was killer! (loved them!!!) The audio balance was off and a few of the clips were jarring (female voice and the characters with audio effects). Although it didn't detract from the story enough for me to stop listening. There was a enough acting to draw me into the character's life, I just wish there was more substance within the book to fill out that story a little more, a couple more demonic characters, maybe a darker entity or two to fill out some of the plot holes.
My Overall of 4 stars comes from the lack of plot and too many short chapters. My 4 stars for the Story come down to feeling like I was left hanging with too many open ended questions that could have been filled in with more from the author. The Performance has my 5 star because it's edgy and on the line of being addicting with how you're drawn into the story and the creativity of the character voices and having both a male and female narrator. I'll be following this narrator, just to see if he can go the full distance and get deeper into immersion audio (my Achilles' heal).

This is a strange one, overall worth buying.
