Publisher's summary

Many Christians are aware of the obstacles and opportunities associated with the rise in atheism and agnosticism over the past 20 years. But even with the rise in atheism and agnosticism, the vast majority of the world (over 90%) still believe in some sort of god or higher power.

In this brief work, James Rudd presents a Biblical perspective on world religions, religious pluralism, polytheism, spiritual warfare and territorial spirits. He attempts to answer the question; “Why do we have so many different people, speaking so many different languages, living in so many different places, worshiping so many different gods—and what does that mean for followers of Jesus?”

This brief explanation traces the Hebrew concept of the Divine Council throughout the Old Testament and into the New Testament, where the concept began to be referred to as “powers and principalities" and what is now commonly referred to as "territorial spirits." This work is somewhat technical, but can be read in under an hour.

Rev. James Rudd has been a pastor since 2004. He has a B.S. in Bible and Pastoral Ministry from Nyack College and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary. He is also ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Currently, he lives in Philadelphia with his wife and three children. You can connect with him at reverencejournal.com.
