About this listen
"At the heart of our universe, each soul exists for God, in our lord." (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, The Divine Milieu)
Take an unforgettable retreat with Teilhard de Chardin's masterpiece: The Divine Milieu. A Jesuit priest and scientist, Teilhard's powerful vision of the universe has influenced countless spiritual seekers. Written in the 1920s but published posthumously, The Divine Milieu is a spiritual work at once cosmic and personal. Mapping the horizons of transcendence and intimacy, it illuminates the boundless contours of our true nature and home in God. Now, this retreat invites you to reflect upon Teilhard's timeless thought. Presented by gifted professor, Teilhard expert, and author Sr. Kathleen Deignan, CND, this six-conference series will transform your spiritual imagination and cosmic consciousness. An accomplished musician, Sr. Deignan weaves her beautiful, acclaimed music in with her profound exploration of The Divine Milieu. You are invited to nurture the "cosmic contemplative", deepen your Christic life, and serve the world with greater enlightenment and soul.
In this retreat you will explore the profound paradoxes of Teilhard's evolutionary spirituality. Orienting you through the landscape and inscape of the sacred, Teilhard will challenge you to visit the mystical terrain of your cosmic neighborhood. Illumined by his wisdom, you will venture on an itinerary he walked before us. With the spiritual master Teilhard as your guide, you will encounter the sacred dimensions of the evolving cosmos and the interior terrain of the evolving human soul.

Story
In the first half of life, we are naturally preoccupied with establishing ourselves; climbing, achieving, and performing. But as we grow older and encounter challenges and mistakes, we need to see ourselves in a different and more life-giving way. This message of falling down - that is in fact moving upward - is the most resisted and counterintuitive of messages in the world's religions. Falling Upward offers a new paradigm for understanding one of the most profound of life's mysteries: how those who have fallen down are the only ones who understand "up".

Story
Author Cynthia Bourgeault investigates the imaginal realm - an energetic realm well known to the mystical traditions but often forgotten in our own times. It is invisible to the physical eye, but clearly perceptible through the eye of the heart. The imaginal realm has long been associated with the personal world of dreams, prophecy, and oracles, and it also points toward a higher vision of our human purpose that is both evolutionary and collective. Bourgeault explores both aspects of imaginal reality and tells listeners how we can cooperate more fully with its guidance in our lives.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Can Audible get The Divine Milieu as a book available for listening? Visually impaired and would love to listen.

A Retreat on The Divine Milieu
Thoroughly enjoyed thus offering but I was expecting the book itself to be narrated. Apparently it's not yet available on Audible. The music at the ends of each chapter were alone worth the price. I wish the source had been ackniwlwdged.

summary of this is inaccurate
I was actually looking for the BOOK, and assumed it was read by Sister Deigen. instead it offers a great deal of interpretation with very little of the actual book. I still enjoyed much of what was said but both the title and the summary of this book on audible are quite misleading .

Lengthy Introduction
The book is an extended introduction to The Divine Milieu, but says little about the actual content. I was disappointed. The Divine Milieu Explained by Louis Savary is far better.

mistitled
an interesting introduction to Teilhard, but didn't dig as deep into the title work as much as I would have hoped.

It should be titled Who is Teilhard de Chardin?
She struggles to explain the subject. I have read the Divine Milieu and she focuses on pg 1-41 exclusively. She didn't bother to read pg 42-159 which is the section were the Divine Milieu is introduced and expanded.

Don’t buy
This is slow plodding praise for the man and lacks substance regarding the contents of his ideas. Unrelated to the actual book.
