About this listen

Embry Ellis is a gay Omega Wolf with a stutter. Taunted for these reasons, he hides in his books, finding the stories to be his only way of escape. Even though he shies away from others, he's always longed for a mate to love and protect him. Angus MacNair is a six-foot-seven Dragon Guardian who's always been in the role of protecting his family. He hates bullies with a passion. At just over a thousand years old, he wishes he could find his Heart—someone to love and cherish. Tom Spencer, reprimanded for bullying Embry, won't stop until he has his revenge against the omega wolf that caused him to lose his status. Can Angus protect his heart and fulfill his duty to the king? Will Embry accept his mountain of a fated mate? Will Tom exact the revenge he's desperate for?

Interesting take

This book that includes dragons, wolves, vampires, and gargoyles is an interesting paranormal read. I thought the storyline was very well thought out and I appreciated the characters.

great listen

I really enjoyed this story. It is a short one but I have to say the author did a really good job of fitting a lot of wonderful stuff in there. The story concept was a new one for me so I enjoyed it very much. The narrator did a great job of defining the different charters in the story and giving them their own identity.

Loved Embry and Angus!!

Embry is an Omega and should be treated as a treasure, but he is bullied and beaten. Angus is an Alpha Dragon shifter and is Embry’s mate. But Embry is afraid when he meets Angus and runs away. This is a quick listen but the author did a fantastic job with a lot of detail in the story! Overall, a really good listen, kept me engaged, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. Aaron Ross did a great job with the narration. Each voice was clear and distinct.

His Sweet Wolf Angel

I must say this wasn't what I expected but it was good listen. Coming into the series on book 3 didn't have me lost in the sauce so it was nice to know I didn't have to have read the first two to completely enjoy this one. Embry and Angus was a really good match and their brief romance was sweet. There were some elements in the story that was disturbing...Embry being constantly harassed by bullies was awful but all in all things worked out well for the couple. It did take me sometime to get use to the narrator's voice...I wasn't really feeling it but the longer I listen it was OK...I was able to get through entire audible without regrets. I enjoyed this shifter mpreg romance and would be willing to keep on with the series.

Angus’s story

I really enjoyed getting to see one of Roarke’s brothers find their mate I felt really bad for what embry had to go through and was a bit frustrated that roarke chose duty over his finding his mate but understand he didn’t know his mate was in that much danger I’m happy with how everything turned out though hope Harper gets captured soon I liked that there was a mention of angus having a hoard in a specific location that was hard to reach but I hope in one of the books we actually get to see one

Aaron Ross is brilliant!

Another great add to the series. Embry and Angus are perfect with Aaron Ross's narration. Great storyline and characters with a universe I can't get enough of. Can't wait for the next.

A little short

I should preface this by saying this is my first book by this author. So I have started the series on book 3. It is also my first time hearing Aaron Ross narrate. I was a little hesitant at first because a bad narrator can ruin a good book and I’ve had issues with new to me narration in the past. I had nothing to worry about Aaron’s narration was fantastic. He absolutely brought the story to life, giving each character their own distinct voice and switching between them seamlessly.

As far as the story goes, it was okay. My biggest issue was it felt a little short. The main characters kept saying they would take it slow and moments later were jumping each other in a cave.
I’m not a huge fan of insta love so I would have preferred there be some semblance of a connection.
I liked Embry (I’m a sucker for a good hurt/comfort) and would have loved to see him grow into himself and become more confident with the help of his mate. What I got was “don’t worry, you’re my mate. I’ll protect you” with no real regard for who Embry is.
The lack of any kind of connection outside of mate bond neither of them had a say in made it hard for me to root for them as a couple. I certainly didn’t believe the declaration of love in any way.

I also didn’t love that we never get to see the babies born. This is an mpreg novel so there’s a bit of an expectation that the reader will witness the birth or at the very least get the perspective of the new parents as they meet their baby(s). Especially since the pregnancy is only three months long.

That said, I did like the story and felt there was enough action to keep me interested. In the end, I want to know if what’s going to happen next so I’ll be picking up the next book in the series.

Loving this series!

I am loving this series. I like seeing the different men find their fated mate. This book is about Angus and Embry with a little of the storyline that continues from the previous books. I like that Angus is gentle and protective with Embry. I like that Embry learns to trust Angus. I feel this book was a little rushed without much happening to the overall storyline. I am still planning to listen to the rest of the series, though.

Enjoyed

Aaron Ross does a terrific job of bringing Dragon Guardian's Angel to life.
C.K. Noel builds an amazing world in The High Garden Dragons series.
I love opposites attract, and when the shy Embry meets the strong, protective Angus, my heart melted.
These two are perfect together.
A wolf and a Dragon as fated mates, what more can you ask for!
Some moments of angst counterbalanced the sugar sweetness in this faced-paced shifter romance. The perfect combination!
What an enjoyable story.
