 Forced to flee the city, Cade and Mae make their way to Lord Aimon’s home, deep into the kingdom. They see much unrest in Gelardia on their travels as the people revolt against the temple. Lord Aimon tells them it is time to show the people they should put their trust in the new king, Cade. Cade feels he can only be the king with Mae as his queen.
