About this listen

Eric Jerome Dickey, author of 14 New York Times best-selling novels, imagines the formative college years of one of his most popular heroines, Nia Simone Bijou.

From her first days at Virginia’s Hampton University, impressionable, creative Nia falls smitten with Chris Eidos Alleyne, an athlete and a scholar.

“Love is sweet nothings and beautiful promises”, Nia writes in her journal. What her girlfriends know, and her mother doesn’t, is that Chris’s expression of love is deeply physical. Wielding powerful charisma, Chris soon has Nia abandoning innocence for experience.

Believing that Chris will reward her sacrifices with lifelong commitment, Nia thrills to her newfound pleasures. She knows in her heart that each act of intimacy draws them ever closer. But when the Big Man on Campus learns to take what is freely given, without regard to love, Nia finds herself newly enrolled in Heartbreak 101.

The Education of Nia Simone Bijou is a rousing tale of youthful passion, once kindled, never extinguished.

worst narration ever

There was so much wrong with the narration, I don't even know where to start! Honey Jines' pronunciation of certain words was wrong to the point of aggravation. Siobhan is pronounced SHUH-VONNE or SHUH-BON NOT CYOBAN! Virile is VEER-ILL NOT VIRAL! Her Spanish was the worst as well. I'm pretty sure I have a permanent nervous twitch now from listening to her poor acting skills, poor reading skills and HORRIBLE pronunciations. Try researching and studying before presenting your final product, Ms. Jones! I am sure EJD has no idea this version exists. If he did, he should rip it from existence! I honestly couldn't finish listening to the book due to the poor presentation. I would've done a better job and I don't even perform for a living. Two thumbs down.

Excellent story, horrible narration

I loved the backstory of Nia Simone, and as always EJD (rip) weaved a great tale. The narrator was absolutely horrible, I will remember to never purchase another audiobook narrated by her again.

Horrible Narration

Not EJD best work. The narration made it worse. Not good at all. Don't bother.

it's like gonzo journaling not a story.

this is just like a collection of thoughts from nia. there's no order no formation just gonzo writing which I usually like but not this. there was no substance to this story. she was just stating and going over events i guess weird.
