About this listen

She’s my weakness, my obsession. And now my prisoner.

I spent 12 long years in a Siberian prison.

Since my release, nothing's held my interest.

Nothing except her.

Week after week, I watch her band perform.

I can't get her out of my mind.

When my past catches up to me, she becomes a target.

The only way to save her is to lock her away.

Hold her prisoner until things blow over.

She’ll never forgive me now, but I can’t explain.

I can’t talk.

Oleg is the BEST!!!!

If you’ve read any other stories in this series, I’m sure you’ve “met” Oleg. He is the Enforcer as the title suggests, and to keep him from talking years ago he had his tongue cut out. Oleg does not interact. No sign language, no nods or reactions; just closes himself off.

Except for Story – lead singer of the Storytellers. He goes to watch her concert every Saturday night. When she needs help, he is there for her, and the relationship begins. Two very different people who bring out the best in each other.

Their relationship affects all who live in the penthouse of the Kremlin. Fabulous and original storyline. I loved it!!

The narration is perfect – Oleg has a Russian accent, so adds reality.

Tons of Feels & Heat

This is another enticing entry for The Chicago Bratva series. My eyes and heart have been pulled again and again to Oleg, the enforcer. His imposing size, stoicism, quietness and his underlying layer of sweetness have been like catnip to me, and I've been desperate to learn all his secrets and see him got a shot with the woman that he has been longing for. This book, number three in the series finally grants my wish and I was not disappointed. I will say that I think this book could quite easily be read on its own. Just keep in mind that characters do reappear and there are some references to some things that have occurred in previous books. Personally, I recommend them all though, so if you want the complete experience. Oleg and Story really will have your heartaching as your temperature soars as the well-crafted and engaging storyline unfolds. These two have some major baggage that weighs very heavily in the emotional and the physical challenges this couple must face. I thought this was just a terrific read that has characters that will tug at your heartstrings, a story that will keep you feeling like you're right on the edge and a romance that hits you with a ton of feels and heat. AND if you are reader that is always on the lookout for unique characters, Oleg should definitely be on your radar. I enjoyed the narrator's voice and and thought that their performance was immersive and enjoyable.

Sweetest mafia story I’ve listened to!

So while I do love mafia/criminal themed romance books and darker themes in my romance in general, I also really enjoy when the morally grey/villainous H is incredibly kind and sweet to the h, that was this book. I can’t recall ever liking a H in a mafia book more, he’s so attentive, kind, concerned about how he treats the h, even when he’s essentially kidnapped her to keep the baddies from getting to her the way he treats her is actually really cute when normally this scenario has the H being a little rough or really overbearing in similar books.

There is some violence as you’d expect from a mafia romance but nothing is extremely graphic and the violence isn’t lingered on, it’s more a quick passing thing for the main characters. The relationship and both the H and h coming to terms with their issues are the bulk of the story.

The narrator did a great job, his accents were perfect, I would have preferred duet narration (a man reading the men and a woman reading all of the women) as that’s always a favorite of mine but he did a fantastic job.

I’m definitely interested in listening to more from this author and as always will cross my fingers for duet narration in the future!

Narration Added to the Story

I liked Oleg's book. His background story was sad and really screwed up. Even after so many years, some part of him thought that Skapel had rendered some level of kindness.

Story had her own issues and challenges regarding abandonment and people not being dependable. It was sad that she labeled her fears as instincts. I did like that Story didn't judge him based on his size or lack if communication.

It was thought that Oleg couldn't communicate. What really was going on is he had no desire to communicate until he got more involved with Story. Oleg held himself so closely, that no one at the Kremlin thought about ways to communicate with him. They accepted the face that he showed them, minimal engagement.

This was more of a sweet romance, with a little suspense, action, and violence, lol. The women of the Kremlin are a lot braver than me.
