About this listen

This is a short, tongue in cheek, survival guide for working parents trying to manage their studies, children, work and personal lives. It lists 50 life lessons from a veteran student who has been studying for over 20 years. She still does not know what she wants to do when she grows up. If you only implement one life hack or useful piece of advice, then this was a useful read. Enjoy the book without taking it too seriously. You can either read it cover to cover or dip in and out of it. The book has been written in conjunction with DoctoralNet; an online coaching programme for postgraduate students around the world. Prudence Moneypenny is a pen name but she is a real person and a graduate of the Open University, Trinity College Dublin. The book contains useful hints, tips and shortcuts to navigating the challenging life of a mature student. There are some affiliate links in the book however, they are for recommended software that the author personally uses. "Gotta love Prudence’s brand of solid ideas with irreverent humour. Her writing is personal, direct and chuck full of practical tips. In a "tell it like it was" way she unpacks difficult concepts such as: juggling a complex “student/parent” life with time management ideas, strategically negotiating university systems to make them work in your favour, and how to keep one’s sanity by working smart in a precarious computerized world. Dive in for a quick look or read it from cover to cover (like we did). Get a glimpse into her reality as Prudence shares an incredible amount of useful information to use in the day to day happenings and routines of life. We believe you will leave this volume with a changed perspective and broader understanding that yes, while the parent/student road will be bumpy; it is doable. Here is how one middle aged lady has made it work for her." Prof. E Alana James and Margie Milenkiewicz, Owners DoctoralNet Ltd Education
