With regards to money, there are usually two schools of thought:

a) that you can never have enough and—
b) the more you have, the less you need.

Unfortunately for Amelia “Amy” Winterton, she definitely falls into the former category. Stuck working dead-end jobs for nearly half her life, Amy spends the majority of her New York nights dreaming of better days.

That is until she receives a dubious invitation from a former BFF, to attend the memorial service for her late husband, who also happens to be a reclusive billionaire. Contemporary Romantic Comedy Money

Blythe Dowling-Eversly returns with another engaging entry in her growing body of work, this time leaning more heavily into classic romantic comedy territory. As the fourth book I’ve read from her, this novel stands out for its lighter tone and infectious charm, while still delivering the emotional depth and realism that has become her signature.

What sets this story apart is its relatability — the characters feel grounded, the dialogue rings true, and the challenges of modern dating are explored with both honesty and humor. Dowling-Eversly has an undeniable talent for capturing the emotional complexity of relationships while keeping the pace lively and the tone fun.

Timely, entertaining, and genuinely heartfelt, this book is a joy to read. I highly recommend it to fans of the rom-com genre — and to anyone looking for a story that balances wit with emotional resonance. I’m already looking forward to seeing what she delivers next.
