Publisher's summary

He was a juvenile delinquent. She was an aspiring pianist. When sparks fly at their high school reunion, they’re willing to forget the past — until old secrets surface, threatening to destroy their future.

Caleb Davenport has spent the last decade traveling around the world building an international company into a billion-dollar enterprise with his business partners, but unfortunately, he hasn’t stopped thinking about Kira Bancroft since high school. He assumes she’s living her dream as a concert pianist — until one evening, fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, he gets the shock of his life when he runs into Kira waitressing at a local Denver restaurant.

After a terrible accident that disabled her father, Kira’s piano career is abandoned to help her parents pay the overwhelming medical bills. When feelings erupt between her and Caleb at the high school reunion, she starts to hope that maybe she can dream again. But Caleb is keeping a secret that could ruin everything.

Does Caleb have a chance to win Kira’s heart — or will his family's secret past prevent him from capturing the girl who got away?

Love this series

Wow!! A feel good love story with a difference. It’s not another boy meets girl and lives happily ever after. It shows the ups and downs of life and how things aren’t always perfect. Kimberley Montpetit has become one of my favorite authors since being introduced to her books. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life in this story. I highly recommend listening to this book (and the series). I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Second chance at romance

Everyone has high school crushes, but Caleb Davenport never got over his crush on Kira Bancroft. Caleb had a rough time in high school, acting out over his situation at home, and getting into trouble, but he's spent the last 10 years building his start up company and now it's worth millions, yet he still thinks about Kira and wonders where she is. Kira had dreams of going to Juilliard to become a concert pianist, but her dad's accident sent those dreams crashing just like the car that crashed into her dad and put him in a wheelchair. Now she's waiting tables at an upscale restaurant to pay her bills and try to help her parents. After a long flight back home, Caleb and his friends, who are also his business partners, go out to eat and he's shocked to see that Kira is their waitress. She doesn't recognize any of them, especially Caleb. He takes this opportunity to ask her to meet them at their 10 year high school reunion, he's definitely not letting Kira get away again.

I really liked Caleb--he's kind, generous, and completely swoony. He had a rough life in high school, but turned himself around and now has a company that helps people. He wasn't going to let Kira slip out of his life again. It must've been really hard for him to confess his secret to her and then have her say she didn't want to see him again.

I thought Kira was really selfless to give up her dream and move back home to help take care of her dad. I did think she kind of overreacted a little when Caleb confessed his secret to her. I was happy when she came to her senses and realized that. Caleb is a great guy and she'd be foolish to let him get away.

I listened to the audiobook and liked the narrator. She helped get me into the story and kept my attention as I do other things while listening to books.

cute and clean

This was a sweet, clean suspension of reality. The narrator was good. I had a few issues with the plotline but overall it was a good listen.

Loved it! A book I've enjoyed several times!

I really enjoyed the narrator. She did a great job pulling me into the story. I really liked the way she added inflections into her narration of the story.

What would you give to have a second chance to find that one person you've always loved? What if you had a secret that you were afraid would ruin that second chance if you were ever to find it? As more time passes, is it worth holding onto that dream or should you just let it go? Even with the secret that must be shared? Is a chance at finding your true love worth all the sacrifices?

I loved this story of a second chance romance. Although technically it could be considered a first chance. Did I confuse you there? Caleb has loved Kira since high school. Yet she didn't really know who he was. Years later Caleb is hoping to have a chance at finding Kira, fixing a mistake and finding his happily ever after!

I loved these two characters. Especially Caleb. Talk about a good swoon worthy Hero! If you like sweet clean romance, a little mystery, fun humor, emotions and struggles, character growth, then I highly recommend this book. I've enjoyed the books in this Secret Billionaire series. Definitely a book that I will be rereading and recommending to friends.

Kira's life has some major struggles in it, which have caused her to set aside her plans for her future and dreams but little does she know that she's about to have some great surprises coming her way. Life may not always turn out as planned but how we handle the ups and downs and go with the flow of our ever changing lives will bring unexpected joys and blessings that we could have missed if we stuck with our plan.

I loved the music aspects of this story. It was so fun to read about Kira and her piano playing. I'm a pianist and went through the whole auditioning for colleges' music programs. Oh the stress, the emotions, the frustration, the exhaustion, the love of music and playing...and so much more. I connected with this story even more due to that because it is something dear to my heart.

Lots of fun and sweet moments, some upsets, some struggles, family ups and downs, lost things found, friendship and sweet, sweet love.

Content: Clean. Some sweet kisses.

Happy Listening!!!

A wonderful HEA

Caleb has overcome his troubled past and become the man he aspired to be. Yet there's a secret that could lose him the one thing he wants most.

Kira's dream of being a concert pianist was cut short when her father's accident causes her to leave Julliard and return home early.

At the end of high school, one could have presumed Caleb would be in trouble and Kira would be successful, but the tables are turned. It's Kira who's fighting hard to keep her head above water while Caleb is an international success.

Yet here they are, heading to their high school reunion, digging up old memories. As all of Caleb's old feelings for Kira flood back in, the only question is, will she forgive him for what he's done when he confesses the truth? And is there still a future for them?

I loved how this story delves into our expectations, what we assume others will think, and how it's often those expectations, not reality, that holds us back.
