Good book, NOT for young kids

I really enjoyed this book, but it's listed in the 8-10 year old category, which should not be the case. There are stories of women being kidnapped and held hostage, etc. Things that would definitely upset my 10 year old! It's weird because most of the book is very light, but then it just gets dark. It's almost like two different books.

Johnny Heller, as usual, gives life to the book with his narration.

Fairly bizarre book; parents beware

What did you like best about The Exploding Toilet? What did you like least?

Johnny Heller is one of our favorite narrators and some of the stories made me laugh.

What was most disappointing about David Holt and Bill Mooney ’s story?

I'm not sure exactly what we were expecting, but I think we thought it would be full of funny and obviously fake stories. Some were, but others were pretty disturbing. Some involved rape and murder. My 12 year old was surprised it was billed as a kids' book. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for young kids. And I didn't enjoy it as a parent.

What about Johnny Heller’s performance did you like?

He always adds humor. We enjoy listening to his voice.

Do you think The Exploding Toilet needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. Or at least we wouldn't buy it.

Any additional comments?

The main reason I gave it more than one star is that my son was interested enough to finish it, despite his complaints.
