Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
I wrote this book in 1989. It was published by NavPress and sold pretty well given the fact that I was an young, unknown author with no real credentials. Eventually, the book went out of print. In spite of this, I got many requests and letters from readers who felt the book helped them understand how the losses in their lives played a critical role in their current relationships. I am amazed that the core tenets of this book (things I was just beginning to understand in my late twenties) have stood the test of time. For that reason, I have decided to republish the book "as is." This may seem like an easy decision to make but it's hard to "update" a piece of work to reflect my own growth and understanding of this topic while doing justice to the original narrative that helped so many people. If you are reading this book for the first time, please understand that my thinking on this topic has evolved. Someday, I may share that evolution in another "book" but for now, I am trusting that what I think today is not nearly as important as whether the book I wrote so many years ago connects with a new audience of readers whose lives have been touched by loss and seek a way to give meaning to what often feels confusing and painful.
