About this listen
A collision of the dead and living ignites terror at Whitehall Manor as Anne Towry fights to return for her child.
Anne Towry finds herself trapped within the cold, unforgiving walls of the psychiatric unit in Baltimore's inner city. Torn away from her newborn child and mourning her recent losses, she fights to escape and prove her innocence. As Anne's world spirals into madness, the ominous presence of Whitehall Manor stretches its sinister fingers even further.
New and unsuspecting guests, Brooks Towry and Evie Bell arrive at Whitehall Manor with a new venture and moneymaking idea. It's not long before suspicions are ignited and terror arises as behind every shadowy corner, something lurks to take hold of their souls. As the days inch closer to the end of October, the power of the Marigold Garden strengthens and the line between the living and dead fades.
Will Anne ever break free from the asylum's clutches or fall victim to the Towry curse, and can the new guests survive the malevolent forces that threaten to consume them all? Dare you enter Whitehall Manor and face the terror that lies within?
Find out what happens next in Book 3, The Fall of Whitehall Manor.

Story
Ten years ago he killed my son. Today I married him. Ten years ago my darling son Jesse was murdered and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere. But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.

Book 3 is as Good as Book 1
Another fantastic installment of the Whitehall Manor series. The book has just the right amount of horror and gore to maximize the plot. I don't like when gore is added for gore's sake, and the author did a great job here. Every detail mattered and added to the overall feeling of suspense and horror. The story is compelling, with twists and turns that keep it interesting through to the last page. Horror is not my go-to genre, but I was excited to read all three books in this series because of their strong story and interesting characters. I recommend.

Meh
I was a little disappointed with this book. Don't get me wrong, if you've read the first two books, which were so good, you have to finish the series. However, this one felt rushed and there were to many things that happened that were like, “really?” For example the whole asylum thing with Ann, I thought was ridiculous. Why was she in there? I don't understand how she got blamed for the murder of the maid if she was giving birth when it happened. She was in labor; how could anyone think she killed the maid? Ann suffered in the asylum, but with all the money she had, how was she not able to get a lawyer, to get her out. There were other things I didn't really like about the ending, but I don't want to give anything away. I was fortunate enough to receive an audio version of the book and I enjoyed the narrator.

The least of the series, and the last few chapters and what happened to the main character a disappointing let down. Still will probably read the authors other books.

Unhappy ending of Ann
You know! I thought this was going to end with the Ann getting a happy ending Guess not! Evie! However you spell her name really wrecked my nerves!! From being just plain dumb! To trying to breastfeed someone else child! Like TF! And that's when i started hating her! So much! Like if I could reach into a story and smack someone it would be her! But let's get passed her! This story like the other ones was amazing!!! I was a little upset that Ann after all she went thru still had was in that hospital and died the way she did! And didn't get to raise her child!
I'm glad her stupid Half dumb Brother got done in at the end because how you go try make money off someone else house!! Like TF! Dude!!! And your ignore your wife time and time again! Just to end up in the same darn situation! Now look at you! Lol DEAD!!
GREAT ENDING Tho! Loved it from being to end!

The darkest secrets yet
Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Beautifully performed by Zoe Bowman, we reached the darkest turn in this series about the Towry family and Whitehall Manor itself. Anne Towry kept within a crumbling, dark asylum that's run by a staff that is as cold as winter itself is behind desperate to get back to her song gets herself entwined into a harrowing journey of survival that extends far behind her prison walls. Whitehall Manor has already borne witness to a many of disturbing experiences but as couple of Evie and Brooks Towry desire to turn they haunting edifice into a place to host staying guests, they find themselves in the battle lines as the murderous souls of several Towry ancestors are setting out to claim more innocent lives... including Anne's own child.
Highly recommended.

I liked it a lot. It was a great read/listen.
This is a good book. It was so good and thrilling. The haunting and all that was amazing the story really reeled me in. It was so good. I just didn’t know what to do or say there was always something but in a good way. It kept me going and wanting to know more. The characters kept me interested and I wanted to knock some sense into them. I felt like a long lost friend that just wanted to shake them for not doing what I’d expect. I really loved this. This was the best story I’ve read in a long while. It was great.

what a let down
I'm really bummed to say that this book was such a letdown for me. I had high hopes after the buildup from the previous books, but this one just didn't deliver. The plot felt dragged out and the twists were pretty predictable. Anne's character development seemed to stall, and the climax left me more confused than thrilled. Overall, it just didn't capture the eerie, gripping vibe that made the earlier books so good.
