About this listen

A Betrayed Archaeologist. A Ghost from the Past. A Dozen Worthy Sacrifices.

Expedition leader Hiram Kane is holed up in his native England recovering from wounds both physical and mental, when his family receives a mysterious anonymous letter that dredges up nightmares from the past. Could it also offer a ray of unexpected hope?

Across the globe beneath a forgotten Aztec pyramid, a disillusioned archaeology professor is about to unleash his wrath.

How? Brutally murdering a dozen innocent victims in an ancient sacrificial ritual.

When the modern and ancient worlds collide and the unhinged professor starts committing unimaginable blood-spilling atrocities on the adolescent virgins, Kane is forced to make an impossible choice.

Can he sacrifice the love of his life to save the innocent girls?

Keep listening

I found the beginning a little boring and hard to follow. I’ve missed books 1-4, somehow missing that it was a series. But, once I got past the past.... and into the action I really loved the book. I understand it needing to start out a little slower for info and build up. I also noticed that past events were explained well enough I understood the context without having the 4 novels read yet. It actually made me want to start at book one and work my way back to this one

Good Series

A fine finish to the Hiram Kane series, The narration is quite good, and the chapters are the perfect length, you don't really have to read these books in order, but the main thing is to read or listen to this series, Steven Moore is a fine writer, and folks, check out his collaboration with David Berens, very good' I received this audiobook free in exchange for my unbiased review.

Excellent

We meet Danny who doesn’t confided much to others, a friend with the bartender and the couple playing their music. He seems more depressed. Only saying the family wouldn’t forgive him, especially after this many years. An anonymous letter to Hiram and he fly’s immediately to Mexico. 30 years, they looked as though twins, the why’s Danny felt inferior. Regret, and how proud he had been of all Hiram had accomplished, he keep tracked, always from a distance. Day long celebration in this little town, didn’t end the same this year. 12 girls are missing, Young 12-13 age from poor families, and most never away from their small town.A television announcement caught Hiram attention, a man addressing him, and the outcome of these girls, to do as he says. How had they known he would be here, his gut saying there would be trouble ahead. The man was an archeological and he wanted the fame that he felt had been denied him. Another captivating adventure. As well as learning about Mexico, the places, and the beauty of it.
The narration was great by Kenneth.

A good bedtime listen

The Feathered Serpent. A good bedtime listen
it doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat but it does entertain. Though I did lose track in places and had to relisten to the chapter.
Although that told me the plot was more complex than I first thought.
Professional narration.

Fun read

This is my first Hiram book and it kept me hooked from the moment I started it. I didn’t want to put it down the pace was really good and I enjoyed the characters. The author clearly did their research which made this story even better. I can’t wait to get all the other books in this series. It was really good and held my attention the entire way. Good action though there were a few parts that felt a little repetitive but overall it was a really good story.

Very interesting

I had never listened or read anything by this author because it's not my preferred genre but am glad I have now. I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. I just couldn't hit stop or even pause it is that good. I also wasn't too lost in the series as it seems these are stand alone worthy as well.
The plot is what drew me in. The Aztec aspect actually. It was fast paced, action packed & just bizarre enough for my liking.
I highly recommend this audiobook.

Enjoyable, thrilling read

The Feathered Serpent, my fifth read from author Steven Moore. Reminiscent of author Dan Brown & (James) Rollinsesque in the action that never lets up until the end. Well-written action-thriller, with well-developed characters. Narrator Kenneth Bryant's narration again made this re-read so very enjoyable! "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." With every book written Moore gets better & better. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
