About this listen

A world ruled by women. A system where men fight to breed.

For generations, women have held absolute power, and men exist only to serve. Neen Salvek never questioned the system’s perfection—until she steps inside the Arena Dome and sees the brutal truth with her own eyes.

The lies. The control. The violence.

Then she meets Tem—a fighter who refuses to kneel. His defiance awakens something within her. A hunger for freedom. For something more. More than obedience. More than order. More than the life she was trained to lead.

As their bond deepens, Neen uncovers a secret that could bring down the Sisterhood’s reign. But rebellion has a price—and love might cost her everything.

One choice could shatter a regime. One voice could start a revolution.

For fans of The Handmaid's Tale and The Power, The Female Breeders is a dystopian thriller that will leave you breathless. This is the first book in The Female Saga, a completed duet.

I thought it was a good story, but the AI narrator ruins it. the inflection of voice often falls flat or doesn't match the context so it makes situations awkward and often confusing. wish I would have just bought the book and read it. it was a free listen though, and now I know to steer clear of AI narrators.

good but the narrator ruins it

The AI voice is a no for me. I hate it. It almost made me stop the story. I like the story but I did feel parts were skipped over or could have been expanded. I’ll be reading the next one instead of audiobook.

The story is great.

It was a good story line, but the virtual voice sucked. There was no emotion, very blah. I won’t listen to a virtual voice audiobook again. If they redid this book with an actual person I would listen again. It was a messed up book in the sense of women treating men especially little boys like crap. That new world wouldn’t be for me.

Good story, bad virtual voice!

It’s a good story. I am suffering through the 2nd book now. I say suffering because the AI voice is so very bad. Passionless and boring. I debated even listening to the 2nd book, but I already bought it. I can’t really say how good the writing is because the virtual voice killed any passionate story telling the book may have had.

The virtual voice is terrible

I went into this thinking the story was intriguing, but hesitant about AI narration. I got it anyway, and it ended up as a DNF. Aside from my personal objections to AI narrators (taking work away from real people and all), the narration was so flat I just couldn't get into the story. overall, story has an interesting premise, but the AI narration ruins it.

Can't get past "Virtual Voice" narration

I listened to the first chapter before turning it off. The story line is good but I refuse to listen to an AI narrator. Pay to have a real person narrate the book or remove it from audible.

AI narrator is trash

Loved the story! It was surprisingly good despite the Virtual Voice. If the writer could get real narrators for this I could easily see it getting picked up for a movie. Very Hunger Games, The Host etc. books I personally love. Can’t wait to read/listen to the 2nd installment in this series!

Surprisingly good despite the Virtual Voice.
