About this listen
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Future of Humanity by Michio Kaku, read by Feodor Chin.
Human civilisation is on the verge of spreading beyond Earth. More than a possibility, it is becoming a necessity: whether our hand is forced by climate change and resource depletion or whether future catastrophes compel us to abandon Earth, one day we will make our homes among the stars.
World-renowned physicist and futurist Michio Kaku explores in rich, accessible detail how humanity might gradually develop a sustainable civilisation in outer space. With his trademark storytelling verve, Kaku shows us how science fiction is becoming reality: mind-boggling developments in robotics, nanotechnology and biotechnology could enable us to build habitable cities on Mars; nearby stars might be reached by microscopic spaceships sailing through space on laser beams; and technology might one day allow us to transcend our physical bodies entirely.
With irrepressible enthusiasm and wonder, Dr. Kaku takes listeners on a fascinating journey to a future in which humanity could finally fulfil its long-awaited destiny among the stars - and perhaps even achieve immortality.

Great book. Well explained and funny.
It's the second book by Michio Kaku I have finished.
I really enjoyed both.
I hope he will write something similar in a couple of years.

Ideas and insights of what we are to become
So happy I got this book!
It’s basically a step by step guide to what we could become where we will go and how we will achieve it.
Using all of the best current knowledge and as it goes further on, theoretical ideas with a scattering of sci-fi references and concepts, this book takes you on a journey from where we are now into the possibilities of mankind’s future.
All and all, I got a lot out of this book, our current status, next step possibilities and necessary technologies to go along with it.
I hope more people take the opportunity to listen to this book.
I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t have more reviews I found it comparable to the book sapiens by yuval Noah harari and while listening to it felt the same exulted feeling of happiness knowing I found something important to listen to.

Bringing it down to earth
I enjoyed this book and the way in which it explained new concepts to me in a down to earth and relatable way. I don't get the impression of the author being a pretentious nut as so many of these types of authors tend to be in their books. A great job and fascinating collections of concepts. A job well done.

Great book!
I love reading Michio Kaku, he writes so eloquently, it makes you feel like you are in the story and you evolve with it. The way he wrote this book was so engaging and so informative, i couldn’t stop reading. He made every chapter interesting and funny and most importantly i felt like i understood what i was reading. I know i am no scientist but most books are written in a way i can barely scratch the surface. Not this one - 100% recommend this book to anyone who is even remotely interested in parallel universes , black holes, the universe and the future of humanity. It’s a fascinating read!

though enlightening but complex
I think you should have some idea of modern physics before you start listening to this book. though the author has tried hard to explain complex concepts with analogies but sometimes the concepts are too complex but fascinating.
