Excellent Crime Drama
Intriguing, captivating with a super voice performance. The second entry in the series threw so many twists and turns at the reader, keeping your engaged, vociferously waiting for the next big reveal. Excellency in crime drama personified, with an excellent cast of characters, settings and tones that keeps the reader locked in to the story.

Fired-up
The second in the Millenium series, by late Stieg Larsson. This book maintains the momentum of the first one (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). A story with pace, action and surprises, it is well worth a listen. At time it stretches credulity somewhat, but then, what good thriller does not? Somewhat surprising, different narrators are used for the two books. Both are good, but this does break the continuity unnecessarily.

cliffhanger!
Would you listen to The Girl Who Played With Fire again? Why?
yes- if they have an unabridged version... maybe I would like to hear more details of this story. Mr. Larsson was a gifted writer
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
as with all his books.. its just develops so well that it keeps you glued
What about Martin Wenner’s performance did you like?
He has a great voice that blends well to the story.

LISBETH SALANDER IS A GREAT MAIN CHARACTER
THE MOST APPEALING THING ABOUT THIS BOOK IS THE MAIN CHARACTER LISBETH SALANDER AND WHILST I HAVE FORGOTTEN MANY OF THE INTRICACIES OF THE STORYLINE AND THE NAMES WERE HARD TO GET USED TO, THE STRENGTH, SMARTS AND HARDNESS OF LISBETH SALANDER WILL BE LONG REMEMBERED

Great book, great reader, great time.
I started to read Stieg Larsson's Dragon Tatto's girl trilogy a few months ago. I bought the books and everything, but due the lack of time I stopped reading; I found a free time on my way to the gym and on the treadmill, so I thought, "Why not listen to it?".
After I bought the audio book, and had my first treadmill session with Martin Wenner I knew I had made the right choice. The overall experience is amazing, specially if you like Larsson's style and you already fell in love with the characters from the first book.
One thing only. Since English is not my native language sometimes I lose track of the story, even though I don't when reading the book. When I read the book later, I find that some really small details are skipped from the actual paper book. I don't think this matters (as the story makes sense) but for instance, you will be missing a really intense introduction described in the paper book, which helps to create the mood even before you get to read the first chapter.

Maybe the book is fine, the abridged version isn't
After listening to the first book in the series (The girl with the dragon tattoo) which I enjoyed, I went ahead and listened to this one. Like I said in the title maybe the book itself is just as good as the first one, but the abridged version is very bad. It mostly feels like reading a book for children (in terms of details, and complexity).
I would not recommend this, and I won't buy the last one in the series as it is only currently available abridged.
One last note about the narration, if you listened to the first book, it will take you quite some time to get used to the narrator, it's not that it's bad, it's just very different.
