A Lot in a Short Time

This novella packs a whole lot of action into its just over 2 hour long run time. I'm always in for a religious themed horror and 'The Glass Cat Eye' doesn't disappoint. The story is fast paced, compelling and fun. Aaron Sinn does a great job of bringing the characters to life and keeping the listener engaged. I'd recommend this one to horror fans looking for a shorter novella for a quick listen.

Cat Eyes Open Hell Portals

Everyone knows cats are evil, well it turns out their eyes open portals and unleash demons. Always thought that was the case. Anyway, this story is quite well developed for being only two hours. I don't think it needed to be longer and was surprised by how much was told. It is both a love story and a demon hunting story. While a lot of the story is fairly predictable, there is a well told story that was exciting the whole way through.

The characters are well developed for a short story, although their relationships were strained and didn't always feel right. Again, some things are predictable but the ups and downs between everyone isn't necessarily and doesn't always fit the characters or the situations. Sometimes things seemed too convenient such as Steven not only being a brainy nerd but also being a judo champion. Not that it helped him much but seemed convenient when battling evil. Dr. Connolly was my favorite, as he seemed to be the most realistic and consistent with his emotions.

I thought this story had some really neat aspects to it. I really enjoyed Dr. Connolly's explanation of psychics. I had never heard that theory before and found it quite plausible and terrifying. Lima was a really cool demon that proved to be a great adversary and the battle story was well told.

Sinn did an excellent job narrating this story. I thought his character voices were fantastic and he really moved the story along with his tone and cadence. I look forward to hearing more from him.

short but really good

I really enjoyed this book. It is well narrated and well written (for what it is). There is a lot crammed into the 2 hour running time. I definitely think this book could have been much longer, but I still quite enjoyed it and would be open to more from this author/narrator duo.

Psychic's, Demon's and portals. Oh my

I absolutely loved this story! Short but filled with everything a good novel would have.

Narrated by Aaron Sinn, he does a wonderful job with the voices and emotions of the story.

this was an odd title. I was really confused when i started reading it but after a while it all came together for me, and I'm glad i gave it a chance.

Dr Demon Hunter

I enjoyed this short story that involves psychics; demons and portals (loved the scene in the basement as Steven was attacked). Liked the characters of Steven and Dr Connelly and disliked Esther and Madam Reece, overall a good quick listen. Pretty Good Idea

The premise of this story is definitely solid. What starts as one man’s quest to prove a psychic a fraud becomes a mission to save the world. The transition of the plot is fluid and flows smoothly from the initial direction to stopping evil. That said, there are a few details that stand out to me that I found unsatisfying.
Let me first say I did like the story. However, is seems like the author is English and set the story in Ohio. The line, “Shut your bloody mouth,” immediately caught my attention, as I have never heard of an American from any part of the country speaking that way. There were a few other things, like calling a woman a sorcerer rather than sorceress, that also seemed strange, but perhaps I’m being too critical there. More below
The narration is good, with a clear sound. It seemed at times to be a little fast (at normal speed) but overall pleasant to listen to.

*Spoilers* The romantic element between Esther and Steven was a bit forced. When Steven arrives and rescues Esther he constantly refers to her romantically, even though she has put him in the “friend zone.” He calls her “honey” and “baby” despite there being nothing beyond friendship yet. I will say that the final scene when they finally do get together makes sense.

Didn't know what I was in for

A fast-paced novella that deals with demons, portals and magic, what is not to like? I was surprised how much was milked out of the two hours runtime, and while not all of it succeeds as well as if there was more time to expand upon everything it did work pretty well. The set pieces are very good, and the world and its rules are cool. Some of the relationships and their dynamics could have definitely used more time to flesh them out, but it was still a fun ride. The narration was pretty good all around and thought Aaron Sinn did a good job. I look forward to checking out more H.L. Randall stories in the future.

The glass cat eye

This was a good book!Esther is a preachers daugter that goes to seances to talk to her aunt.Stephan,her friend is an atheist that has no time for the supernatural.He tries to reason with her.Things go awry. Aaron Sinn was a fine narrator.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.
