About this listen

The latest nerve-shredding thriller from the bestselling author of The Dinner Party

When Leah Talbot hits a deer on a deserted road she spots a light on in a nearby house and approaches, hoping that someone is home.

Martin Tate, a charming and handsome man answers the door to the bedraggled and traumatised Leah, inviting her in. Though she’s not there for long, Leah feels an indescribable pull to the man who has helped in her hour of need.

Returning the next morning to express her gratitude, Leah is shocked by the crime scene tape covering the entryway to the house. The sole occupant of the house had been murdered the night before.

The sole female occupant.

The Good Neighbor is an absolutely gripping crime thriller that does not let up the pace! Perfect for fans of Lucy Foley and Alex Michaelides.

Ridiculous and Amateur

NO SPOILERS! This book was beyond awful. If you like books with intelligent characters and a tight plot stay away from this book. It makes no sense, the main character makes endlessly stupid choices and the bad guy is poorly fleshed out. The cops are the Key Stone cops.. truly do not deserve badges. It’s the kind of book where you end up yelling out loud because people keep making stupid choices.

There is plenty of action however you never understand the motivation behind the killers actions. He likes to psycho analyze people like Hannibal Lecter but he is no Hannibal. Overall, this book could have been great if it only made sense and more intelligent writing.

Dumbest protagonist ever...

Possible spoiler:

Ask yourself this: would you hang around in a house where a known serial killer has just been and may still be? Trampling all over the crime scene? Ugh... so dumb. As for that hubby of hers he needed to go. What a prick.

I thought this was going to be good in the beginning but the more I listened the more I realized how stupid of a story it was and how bad of a book it really was. There was just no point to this mans relationships and killings.
