About this listen

The story takes place in The Winglebury Arms, the chief inn in the little town of Great Winglebury. When an anonymous letter form one of the guests is misinterpreted by the mayor of the town events don’t go quite as planned! This humorous little tale, told as only Dickens could, is as sure to amuse now as when it was written over 150 years ago.

Pay the Man. You're In For A Treat.

A deadly duel at dawn, just hours away. Mistaken (and badly at that) identity betwixt a lord and a fop. Love lost. More convenient love found.
Take a short ride in the Dickens' carriage with Hynes up on the box driving the horses. Away!

Weak story

Here I go again repeating the same thing I've said in a few other of Dicken's short stories. I don't like them all that much. He needs space to expand on his characters. To me, his short stories almost seem like ideas he may have been working on to possibly expand into longer stories but the stories never got that extra work to expand them.
Something missing in these.
I really like the narrator, but the story falls short.
