About this listen

Love of God, of humanity, and of self: in all its manifestations, love is the supreme redemptive power in our lives. Despite centuries of poetry and song about love, it is still the Bible which most deeply and expressively describes its significance. Celebrate the most sacred gift we have, and share it with loved ones, with these eternal, awe-inspiring selections, which include passages from Ruth, the Song of Solomon, Corinthians, and I John.

Featuring beautiful classical music interwoven thoughout the program, The Greatest of These is Love is a powerfully inspirational listening experience you'll return to again and again.

It was beautifully done, and the other audible of the same narrator are great just the same.

Narration was perfectly done, in tone, meekness, good interpretation.

Would you try another book from the author and/or Various?

I was very excited to find this. I have been looking for a reading of selected Bible readings on a single subject.

Perhaps that, in part, leads to my disappointment. While they do read versus, they omit the book, chapter and verse which the passage came from. As a learning aid or means of reinforcing a concept, I would consider this a major fail. I've never before seen (or in this case heard) a collection where the source wasn't cited.

The description says there are interludes of beautiful classical music. I'll admit this is purely subjective, but I found the selections more annoying than beautiful. I also found them loud enough that they distracted from the readings rather than help me focus on them.

If you are looking for something akin to a collection of poetry, that this would be an OK selection. If, on the other hand, you wanted to reinforce Bibical concepts, and strengthen your knowledge of the Bible, then move on to a different book.

Would you be willing to try another book from the author? Why or why not?
