Supernatural Innovation!!

Knightley knocked out another homerun with The Groundskeeper's Daughter. In every story, she builds suspense and with this novella being no different. Her imagery is beatufully written where you feel right inside the cemetery and cottage along with the characters as a stealthy spirit listening for clues. The plot was like no other I have read previously bringing an innovative touch to the supernatural genre. I highly recommend you read or listen to this novella!!

A Fun Night of Listening

Bravo to both to the author and the narrator! This story is about a woman who was raised in a cemetery as her father was the groundskeeper. She became intrigued by an unattended grave. After researching the grave, she learned it was supposedly cursed, causing the deaths of generations of family members named James. The resolve was expertly written in such a way to keep the listener rooting for The Groundskeeper's Daughter and her newfound love. And, the narrator's pacing and emphasis enhanced the likeability of the main characters. The way she read she helped to keep straight the string of James victims. I listened to the audio in one night in my recliner with the lights off. Creepy Fun! Try it!!

Just as good the 2nd time arouns

The Groundskeeper's Daughter is a cozy little mystery that takes place in a cemetery. Molly, the groundskeeper's daughter, meets the young man with only a short time to live and just determined to find a way to save him. Despite the short length of the story, I felt as if I got a full novel because the narrator spoke in such a way that kept me engaged and wanting to listen to more. The plot was very well thought out and the ending was not what I expected. I won't spoil it, but it is a must listen to for the holiday season filled with hope, love, mystery, thrills, and heartbreak.

Hearing the story through Audible added another layer of enjoyment to the story after i initially reading it and I was quite pleased.
