Love the main character. This is such a sweet and inspiring story. Incredibly insightful writing. A self help book wrapped up in an entertaining and loving story. Can’t wait for my daughter to read it too.

A Thought-Provoking Journey in Pursuit of True Happiness

At first glance, I anticipated, “The Happiness Quest” would follow a familiar, fairytale-like narrative, complete with a "happily ever after" ending. However, Rebekkah Edlund skillfully avoids that cliché by posing a deeper, burning question: how does one truly achieve happiness?

Edlund weaves this question into the heart of the story through her protagonist's journey. Instead of offering simple answers, the book explores the complexity of happiness by integrating various factors that influence it. What truly stands out is how the author uses character interactions to reflect these complexities. Characters like Steve the creep and Jim the pessimist represent realistic individuals we might encounter in life—those who either dismiss or challenge the idea of happiness. These interactions provide the protagonist with new perspectives, highlighting the fact that not everyone believes in or supports the pursuit of high-quality happiness.

The book's charm lies in how it balances the protagonist's personal quest with the reality that happiness is not always as straightforward or universally understood as we might hope. Edlund masterfully ties these factors into the storyline, making the journey feel relatable and grounded. “The Happiness Quest” is not just a story, but a thought-provoking exploration of what it truly means to pursue happiness.
