A Well-Crafted Story With Good Pacing
I had never read or listened to any of Miller's stories, so this was new territory for me. I didn't know to expect, of course, but I was not disappointed. Overall, Miller created a good story that moved along at a steady pace. The tension fluctuated when necessary and the characters were mostly believable. I say mostly because one character's traits were such that as soon as I read them, I knew how the character would fit into the story and plot. There were a couple of other predictable points, but not enough to completely derail the story. It was still a well-done tale.
Caravetta was new to me as a narrator too, but I really enjoyed the way he brought the characters to life. His pacing, tone, and dialogue were done very well. I will definitely look for other stories he's narrated.

Fast paced and brutal
A well written and horrifically brutal story which keeps you on the edge of you seat. The story starts strong and keep up the momentum to the very end. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed

Wow!
I would have never picked this books to listen to just based on the cover alone but I’m glad I got the opportunity to listen to it! It definitely has you guessing in the beginning, what is happening here? Then it catches you by surprise and you just have to know what is gonna happen in the end! Great story!!!

Another suspense-filled book
Mr. Miller knows how to write a book that keeps pulling you into the story. He does it again with The Hard Goodbye. Crime does pay until it doesn't. When you think things can't get any worse that's when they usually do and in The Hard Goodbye things get bad.....very very bad. Why not take a ride in Mr. Miller's The Hard Goodbye and find out how good bad can be.

Loved it
This is an excellent example why I’ve quickly become a huge fan of Chris’s work
Full of bloody backstabbing and nonstop action this could easily be a Tarantino film
Well narrated and a must read for crime thriller fans
