About this listen

John David Krygelski's suspenseful debut novel - The Harvest - is a stunning tour de force! Whether tackling the epic battle between good and evil, or answering the subtle and persistent questions which haunt us all, Krygelski writes a compelling and startling story centered on the mysterious arrival of a man who claims to be the Creator. Clearly not a mortal, Elohim - as the stranger prefers to be known - astounds those he meets with unexplainable miracles and reality-altering answers. All of this is but a prelude to his announcement that he has come to do something...something which will affect every person on Earth...something which will occur in five days. Against the backdrop of a world reacting to the announcement that God has arrived, a hastily assembled group of interviewers question and test Elohim...while hidden forces emerge to thwart his plans.

I loved it one of the best mixtures of facts and fiction I've ever read period.

profound!

This was an amazing story with fact and fiction intertwined. I loved hearing how "the creator" answered some of the most common theology questions. You do need to pay attention to avoid losing track of the characters though.

This is a MUST READ!!!

What made the experience of listening to The Harvest the most enjoyable?

Simply the story. Thank you John for writing this! Thought provoking and entertaining. I really do appreciate John's conservative and religious baseline to his stories. So darn refreshing in thus time of "anything goes" in the name of "tolerance".

What did you like best about this story?

The thoughtful dialogue between "The Creator" and the subject matter experts.

What about John David Krygelski’s performance did you like?

Since he wrote the book, he presented his characters exactly like he meant them to be.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Are you one of the chosen?!

Any additional comments?

John is a great and refreshing writer and I can't wait to listen to more of his books!

Thought provoking and very enjoyable.

I have already read The Harvest multiple times and enjoyed this audio version as well. The way in which Mr. Krygelski addressed key points in differing belief systems is respectful and his reconciliation of those differences is both interesting and intelligent. I especially found the conversations between Elohim and the key characters enjoyable and relatively easy to follow despite my lack of familiarity with advanced scientific and mathematical theories. Elohim is quite relatable to these modern times and believable. Mr. Krygelski also demonstrates a firm understanding of the psychology of individual and group behavior in various situations.
I'm a fan of reading books instead of listening to them but it was a real treat to hear one of my favorite books read by the author. This is the type of book which offers something new with each reading or listening. I'll be listening to this one again very soon.

So Glad The Harvest Found Me

If you could sum up The Harvest in three words, what would they be?

Imaginative, Observant, Insightful

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Harvest?

The entire experience of reading the ideas and observations of this author.

What does John David Krygelski bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Krygelski, being the author, by his inflections, speed, and tone bring to life the subject the way he, the author, meant for them to be experienced. His voice is pleasant and his takes great care to enunciate clearly so that even people with a hearing loss, like myself, can fully comprehend and appreciate the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

God is here or is he?

Any additional comments?

I am very selective when it comes to the science fiction that I am willing to devote the necessary time to read. If the story is not based on good sound thought with accurate science, for the time it was written, I am not going to waste my time reading it.

I look for an author who takes observations of the world, scientific principles of controversial nature, and extrapolates them into a believable story that will cause me to think and expand my own knowledge. I am interested in the human condition and how science impacts it presented in such a way as to bring new ideas, new observations, and possible explanations of current topics and concerns. With that in mind, prior to discovering Mr. Krygelski, my favorites were Robert Heinlein and Michael Crichton. Believe me when I tell you that Krygelski is right there with them.

What Mozart is to music, Krygelski is to the printed word. I loved his characterizations, his descriptions, the pacing of the story, and, most of all, the new paradigm that it afforded me. There were times that I stopped and went back to listen to something again just because the logic presented in controversial subjects was so clear and insightful.

Needless to say, I am, now, a huge fan. Thank you Mr. Krygelski for the insights and thoughts presented. I loved it.

A Diamond

I normally don’t write these but the books is just that great. It’s a moving story. Normally if the author is the same as the Narrator then the book will suck. This is not a page filler book. So interesting!

The Harvest = Phenomenal

Any additional comments?

The most thought provoking story I’ve ever come across…as an avid reader for 30+ years that is quite a statement; however, it is well deserved! Approach this phenomenal tale with an open mind as it is an amazingly deep read which forces you to take stock of your own beliefs. I first read The Harvest in paperback in early 2012 and just completed the recently released audio version, narrated by the author. As with all his works, it is an impressive performance.

Phenomenal book

The Harvest was the first book by Mr. Krygelski that I had the pleasure of reading. It was a great read that I couldn’t put down. The audio version is even better. He did a great job narrating the book and the addition of the voice effects made it better than most of the audio books I’ve listened to. Recreating the sound of a lecture hall made it feel like I was actually there, I’ve never heard anyone else add something like that to the performance. Can’t wait to listen to the next book!

Best New Author I Have Found in Recent Years

Krygleski has a wonderful, brilliant and unique mind; and only such a mind could conceive of this brilliantly presented interpretation for the out-come of Revelations/End-of-Days. He brings humor and human believability along the path his characters must take to to arrive at the unheard-of, yet totally possible, outcome at the time set as the "Second-Coming" and the "End-of-Days".

Definitely a 'must read' for anyone who has sufficient intellect so as to even conceive that the story set out in Revelations might not happen exactly ad described. Krygleski brilliantly. interweaves Judaic beliefs with Christian beliefs; and also includes the beliefs of other faiths, including agnostics, into his story.

I could not stop listening. it was absolutely riveting.
