About this listen
Matt Brooks knows the forests and fields of the Midwestern farms better than most young people his age and following the early loss of his father has honed his skills as a hunter and outdoorsman to a razor's edge. He will need all these skills when long-established neighbor trouble escalates during the quest for a legendary trophy buck, and the deterioration of his arch-nemesis reaches a pinnacle of no return. Distracted by this mounting trouble, a new girl in town, and the approaching hunting season, Matt finds himself in a series of events that cast him on a path which will change his life forever.
The pursuit of prey both in the woods and in his personal life leads to intrigue, deceit, and danger as the chase for justice and revenge culminates in tumultuous twists and turns through the autumn woods. Is Matt Brooks ready for the challenges he will face in pursuit of a trophy that he hasn’t yet defined?
Fans of hunting, adventure, and the outdoors will find this exciting new character relatable and gripping. If you're missing the hunting season and the great outdoors, let Matt Brooks take you there. Fans of C.J. Box will appreciate the familiarity of the outdoor experience teamed with action and adventure!

WORST. NARRATION. EVER.
The story line is good but the narration is horrible. Anyone listening will become irritated with the robotic voice.

Good story for tweens
The story is simple and wholesome. The narration is horrible. I’m proud I was able to hang in to the end despite the painful narration.
