Publisher's summary

What is the real story behind the Illuminati? Where does it start? How did it end? And, most importantly, did it end at all? Is this elusive group still having meetings to this day, planning and scheming behind everyone's backs?

The Illuminati is a cult you've definitely heard of before. Not because of their heavy influence or the power they had over history, but due to something that's much harder to understand and comprehend...

Internet memes. Jokes. Someone makes a video and adds the iconic pyramid with an eye from the American one-dollar bill to it and creepy music on top of it, posts it on YouTube with a title that goes something like "The Illuminati are behind Facebook!" and in come the views and comments.

There is another group of people that have an interest in the Illuminati, those being fanatics. People who proclaim that they were nothing less than the servants of Satan himself. Their ultimate goal? To take over every known government and prepare the world for the return of none other than the Antichrist.

Where is the truth in their story, and can we find it?

Very Interesting!

Would you listen to The Illuminati again? Why?

Yes. Even though we don't know if the Illuminati exists or not, it makes for a great story. Conspiracy theories always add something to a story and this is no exception. To think that this group can control countries, the weather (with the H.A.A.R.P. machine), cause wars, etc. is very scary. W.B. Ward is the perfect narrator for this since his voice is soothing and calms you through the controversial book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I had no favorite character. I liked the whole book.

Which scene was your favorite?

I wouldn't call it a scene but the happenings in the 20th/21st century stuck with me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

JFK and Bobby Kennedy's murders as well as them starting WWII.

Any additional comments?

This book really makes you wonder if they exist or not!

Balfour Should Count Himself Lucky

Would you try another book from Seth Balfour and/or W.B. Ward?

I would try another book from W.B, Ward, but I wouldn't waste my money on Balfour. He should count himself lucky that Ward was able to read it at all, much less do such a good job!

What was most disappointing about Seth Balfour’s story?

There were so many! It was a complete recipe for disaster. Add horrible grammar, including dangling participles, to no organization of topic, mix in badly thought out sarcasm, fold in half a cup of irrelevance, and half-bake in the oven of skimmed research. In about an hour, which is about as long as this book took to read, you'll get his mess.

Which scene was your favorite?

The last word!

Did The Illuminati inspire you to do anything?

Absolutely not. The questions that could have been generated for further research were smothered by poor authorship. All I wanted to do was end it!

Any additional comments?

I applaud Ward for sticking to his contract with Balfour. A lesser man would have had trouble, I am very sure.

Book facts are false.

Several of the books' facts are not accurate. This author didn't do research deep enough. The facts that stood out to me were 1. He states that the Illuminati was created in the 1600s however they were created in the 1300s. 2. The killer of Bobby Kennedy was incorrect. With these two facts being false I have a difficult outlook within the rest of the books' contents.

The narrator was well voiced and easy to listen to. I would listen to another audio book narrated by W.B. Ward.

For overall rating I had to give 1 star. Due entirely to the false facts that were within the book.

Just the Facts

Would you consider the audio edition of The Illuminati to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The way the narration was neither pro or con of the subject matter. Just delivering the information.

Which scene was your favorite?

No scenes really due to the nature of the book. (in my opinion).

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

that the conspiracy theorists have a possible name.

Any additional comments?

Mr. Ward did a great job.

A little short

The author does a decent job highlighting bits and pieces of the Illuminati conspiracy theory. If you don't know much about them this is a good way to get your feet wet. The narrator does an amazing job of keeping the flow going so it doesn't get boring and uses great voice inflection to make it feel more like a conversation with a friend.

The Illuminati. More truth than fiction?

I listened to this audiobook with an open mind. I like to learn. Many of the conspiracy theories I have heard before. There have been many rumors circulating about this secret cult for years. While listening to this audiobook, I did hear some that I hadn't heard before. It is thought provoking, and leaves the listener room to form their own opinions on how much power they wield, if any. W.B. Ward delivers another excellent narration! I enjoyed listening to it very much.
