Awful!!!!

The female was wimpy the male clueless for someone who was suppose to be a women killer. Did not care fore the narration the Italian accent just made the character sound stupid and I really did not like the way the characters were articulated . Kept hoping the book would get better but finally gave up did not read the full book

Feel Good Read

This is a good read when you want to escape and just listen and enjoy. This novel was well written, although the Italian accents weren't the best by the narrator.

Great Story

If you could sum up The Italian's Suitable Wife in three words, what would they be?

Romantic, fascinating and thrilling.

What three words best describe Lindsay Ellison’s voice?

I do not like her narration of Gianna's voice, it makes her sound blah........

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I would listen to this book in one sitting.

Weak male and female, poor narration.

What did you like best about The Italian's Suitable Wife? What did you like least?

The storyline should have made for a great read but the female character was spineless and the male character insecure.....all made worse by the terrible narration. I have never disliked a narrator before but she was so wrong for this book it just ruined it.

So sweet and sensual!

Oh, how I loved this book. It was one of the sweetest things I've read in a really long time. The love shown in this book was so tender and overwhelming that I found myself crying as if I were the main character. Thanks for such a great story and a wonderful emotional adventure!

Lucy Monroe

One of her earlier works, this follows the prescribed formula for a HP books. It’s a sweet, sincere, heartfelt, feel good listen. This is the best narrator for an HP romance I’ve ever listened to. Good job!

Will his pride stand in the way?

The Italian's Suitable Wife is one of my all-time favorite Lucy Monroe books. She always hooks me from the first word to the last.

Summary:
Enrico "Rico" DiRinaldo and Gianna Lakewood have known each other since Gianna's birth. Their mothers were the best of friends, and Gianna has been an adopted part of the DiRinaldo family since her mother's death. Where Rico sees Gianna in a sisterly light, Gianna has loved Rico in a sexual way since she was fifteen. For Gianna, she has gone unnoticed, left to suffer her unrequited love for eight long years. To make matters worse, the man she loves is engaged to marry a beautiful model. When Gianna is contacted by Rico's younger brother, Andre, because Rico is in a life-threatening accident, she rushes to his bedside. Seeing the man she loves so helpless and vulnerable is heartbreaking, but Gianna can't help but keep demanding him to wake up. Luckily, after being in a coma for a few days, he does, and he's grateful for Gianna and Andre's bedside vigil, but he wants his fiancé, Chiara. Chiara isn't as loving, kind or selfless as Gianna, and she clashes horribly with Gianna. Since coming out of his coma, Rico views his life and those around him differently, especially with his loss of feeling and mobility. He couldn't be more surprised when his feelings for Gianna, a girl he's known all her life, change drastically and become much more sexual. When a stolen kiss not only reveals hidden passion but is also caught by Chiara, Gianna knows she's about to be cast out of Rico's life forever, but she's far from the truth. Gianna couldn't be more flabbergasted when Rico insists she not run from him, and more marry him! Rico has a long recovery and is ready to settle down with a family. Who better to motivate him to success faster and be a mother to his bambini, than Gianna. Gianna wants to marry Rico more than anything. After all, she loves him deeply, always has, always will, but she knows he doesn't love her. Rico is determined to get what he wants, and he says he wants Gianna. But will Gianna be able to live a lifetime without love but blinded by children, and is there more to Rico wanting her as his wife?

I loved Gianna. She was so sweet, selfless, and loyal, but with an underlying steel backbone that you can't help but admire. She was innocent and a bit naive, but she was in no way a doormat. Rico was amazing. His arrogance and bossiness made it impossible not to. I hate that he made Gianna feel so horrible, but he really made up for it. A fantastic story filled with tragedy, love, misery, a bit of angst, and romance. You couldn't ask for anything more, and Lucy Monroe always delivers. ♡

This is my first Harlequin on Audible. For the most part, the narrator did well. There were a few places I didn't really feel her voice portrayal hit like it was supposed, too, but they were fleeting. The one thing I disliked was the music intro for each chapter. To me, it was unnecessary and became annoying as the book progressed.
