About this listen

Jenny Han meets The Bachelorette in this “sparkling, witty, warm-hearted gem” (Karen M. McManus, number-one New York Times best-selling author of One of Us Is Lying) of a romantic comedy about a teen Korean American adoptee who unwittingly finds herself at the center of a competition for her heart, as orchestrated by her overbearing, loving family.

Jasmine Yap’s life is great. Well, it’s okay. She’s about to move in with her longtime boyfriend, Paul, before starting a nursing program at community college - all of which she mostly wants. But her stable world is turned upside down when she catches Paul cheating. To her giant, overprotective family, Paul’s loss is their golden ticket to showing Jasmine that she deserves much more. The only problem is, Jasmine refuses to meet anyone new.

But…what if the family set up a situation where she wouldn’t have to know? A secret Jasmine Project.

The plan is simple: Use Jasmine’s graduation party as an opportunity for her to meet the most eligible teen bachelors in Orlando. There’s no pressure for Jasmine to choose anyone, of course, but the family hopes their meticulously curated choices will show Jasmine how she should be treated. And maybe one will win her heart.

But with the family fighting for their favorites, bachelors going rogue, and Paul wanting her back, the Jasmine Project may not end in love but total, heartbreaking disaster.

Fluffy Read

Ok that was cute and fluffy, really nice to end the year with
the story is about Jasmine and her family, she has a boyfriend is basically a piece of trash and she is convinced they are soulmates, so when her family discovers that he is cheating on her they organize a competition for her heart, there are three boys and one of them will be the winner of Jasmine's heart .. the only problem is.. Jasmine doesn't know about any of this
its a funny idea that reminded me of (10 blind dates), it was really drama free and funny to read .. Jasmine reminded me of Lara Jean a lot, I like these kind of books for a lazy day read

I really didn't like the narrator, she seemed really bored like she was waiting for the book to end, her performance was really lacking

Great for young adults

Such a fantastic book for young adults, especially teenagers navigating first love. So many young women settle for what they think they deserve. Any attention they get is good attention so it doesn't matter if he kinda sucks. This book does well to show how you ought to be treated, how to start valuing yourself, and evaluate others who you're in a relationship with.

It was a little slow to start, but once the contest started and the family dynamics were in, I loved it. The sense of the big family was real, the comradery, the drama, the chaos, the love -- it was dynamic and special.

Definitely will read more from Ireland. I'd even love her to do an Adult novel so she can unleash the full unfiltered hilarity that you might spot on her Twitter account.
