About this listen

An extraordinary cutting-edge suspense novel from the "king of the pack" (The Washington Times), number one New York Times best-selling author Frederick Forsyth.

In Northern Virginia, a secret agency named TOSA (Technical Operations Support Activity) has one mission: To track, find, and kill those so dangerous to the United States that they are on a short, very close-held document known as the Kill List.

Now a new name has been added: A terrorist of frightening effectiveness called the Preacher, who radicalizes young Muslims living abroad to carry out assassinations. Unfortunately for him, one of his targets is a retired Marine general, whose son is TOSA’s top tracker of men.

The Preacher has made it personal - and now the hunt is on...

Excellent book, I would recommend it to anyone… Typical of the author.

I would recommend this book to anyone. It is an excellent read. It is gripping right from start to finish. I enjoyed the characters, the set up of the characters, the inclusion of actual history… It is a typical book of the author, absolutely fantastic as per usual. I have read quite a few of his books at this point and while not all are excellent, this one definitely is a keeper.

Right out of today's Headlines.

I believe I was reading about a certain President having a kill list. Great book scary concepts. Some of the technology involved is great but is it too great?

Frederick Forsyth Still Has It

Any additional comments?

I read The Day Of The Jackal in the early 1970s and The Odessa File a couple of years later and I was amazed. I have not read Forsyth since then and last week a friend spoke about this book. Frederick Forsyth can still create a timely story and keep you sitting in your car to find out what will happen next. He is deserving of a "Driveway Moments" award for keeping you so riveted that you are reluctant to get out of the car. This is a great book for George Guidall because he gets to use his talents for voices of many nationalities.

Today's Headlines

The use of the internet by terrorists is all too familiar. Not only are there people like "the preacher" in this book who convince people all over the world to commit acts of terrorism and kill innocent people. Others use the images of those acts to glorify this madness. I hope we have the will and the ability to find these people and stop them but I fear one is stopped and five appear. When you are dealing with people who want to die to make their point, what choice do you have than to hunt them, find them and end them.

Meh

Mediocre and complicated story line. Narration pauses at odd intervals with inconsistent inflections and energy. Made it difficult to stay with the flow of the overall premise of the book.

A Good Listen

An engaging story. Good characters. Nicely paced. And, as always, George Guidell is a delight to listen to.

Gripping Modern Espionage

The fantastic plot moves at breakneck speed with many foreign characters, negotiations and subplots. It is exceptional in the way the reader is not spoon fed the story and instead must pay close attention to the narrative. Very little is recapped or repeated. Guidall does a great job under the circumstances and accepting that novel does jump rapidly from one scene to another. I finished this in under a week and again, Forsyth has outdone himself.
