Publisher's summary
In the good old days, magic was powerful, unregulated by government, and even the largest spell could be woven without filling in magic release form B1-7g.
Then the magic started fading away....
Fifteen-year-old Jennifer Strange runs Kazam, an employment agency for soothsayers and sorcerers. But work is drying up. Drain cleaner is cheaper than a spell, and even magic carpets are reduced to pizza delivery.
So it's a surprise when the visions start. Not only do they predict the death of the Last Dragon at the hands of a dragonslayer, they also point to Jennifer, and say something is coming: Big Magic....

Good Light hearted fun in the vein of Pratchett
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes most definitely!Forget the Young Adult Fantasy handle this book is hidden under. It's a book for anyone who wants a good read (listen) that never takes it's self too seriously and has more twists and turns than a Möbius strip, with some weighty moral concepts to keep you involved in Jasper Fforde alternate world.I found this book quite by accident but now can't wait for the next book in this series.A well defined alternate contemporary (sort of) Fantasy world
What other book might you compare The Last Dragonslayer to and why?
If you're a fan of Terry Pratchett you will likely enjoy this book.
What does Jane Collingwood bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her characters are well defined and her English accented characters bring this story to life. This book is perfect for her voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
Forget the Young Adult Fantasy handle of this book, don't let it turn you off as it nearly did for me.

Fforde is always good
This is not the best from Jasper Fforde, but it's still good. I liked the voice acting, the story is a bit "young adult".

Good kids' story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
My 10 year old grandson has listened to this at least 3 times and chortles with laughter all the way through it. I found it rather hard going.
