Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling sensation Omar Tyree applies his signature passion and flair for the romantic to a thrilling new novel about a writer who returns to the Harlem streets of his youth in search of a new story to tell.

The Last Street Novel tells the tale of Shareef Crawford, successful African-American author of steamy romances, and his journey home to Harlem, where a search for literary inspiration leaves him in the crossfire of a world of thugs and their deadly turf battles. Besieged with more material than he could have imagined, Crawford must fight for his life before he can even begin crafting his narrative.

Filled with hardcore action, violent gang disputes, and passionate characters from the gritty inner city, The Last Street Novel promises to expand Tyree's fan base exponentially.

Critic reviews

"The pacing is fast and the dialogue snappy....Tyree's latest should fare well and add to his substantial readership." ( Publishers Weekly)

Ok Book

A sequel would be nice. It kept my attention but the ending wasn't what I expected.

Solid Read

I like the book overall. The end of one chapter and the start of the next is a bit close.

The Storyline

This story was good and it was realistic in the sense of the streets not being the place for everyone! The performance was subpar but it was a great listen due to the storyline!

Lost its momentum

This audiobook had all the elements of being a great production -- intrigue, a good story line, a narrator with a pleasant voice, plus interesting and well thought-out characters etc. But somewhere after the climactic scene, it fizzled out into a dud. It was about an hour too long for my taste. An abridged version would have sufficed.

Good first venture into a new genre for Tyree.

Good first effort for Omar Tyree as he ventures into the urban crime genre. Uneven at times with the pacing and the message can be heavy handed but I appreciate the intent. Ending wrapped up a little too neatly for my tastes but it was still an entertaining Story.

Absolutely awesome!

Loved the book, the narration, and the story. Mr Tyree didn't just raise the bar, he Is the bar.

THE WORST

Unealistic, anti-climactic and overall bad storytelling. it had more machizo and braggadocious dialogue than anything. Highly disappointed and wish I could get my money back.

Don't waste your time

This book is terrible. I like Omar Tyree, but this book is so unrealistic. Black people do not talk and act like this. Terrible book!!
