Publisher's summary
Congratulations! You've accepted the Lionheart's Quest!
Tharis doesn’t know who he is, what he is, or what he will do. All he knows is that he must fight and kill, as that is what his IRL player tells him to do.
Soon, Tharis realizes he can taste, feel, and even think on his own! With life becoming more real every second, Tharis finds that he can take control of his own destiny - literally - against the will of his creator. Yet, all decisions have consequences, and with awareness comes the fear of death.
And for Tharis...there is no respawn.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

An entertaining and original LitRPG story
The Lionheart is an entertaining and original story in the LitRPG genre. The concept of a self-aware character that is unable to make any of his choices and just being along for the ride to be an original and unique take on this genre. The story moved along quickly with good pacing. It was interesting to see when the characters leveled up, and I definitely appreciated that he didn’t list all the stats every time it happened. I found the characters enjoyable, and the author did a great job forming a great team out of unlikely friends. The Narrator did a great job as well, giving all the characters separate and distinct voices. Overall, it was a pretty good story and I look forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Nostalgia from all the MMOs I've played
Completely different perspective that brought back years of enjoyment playing MMORPG games. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Exciting character storylines, just enough environment description and first person perspective without being overwhelming. All characters have unique voices which makes it that much better. I only wish the main character's voice was a little older.

“He’s the one.”
I received a promotional copy of this audiobook in exchange for a fair review. Possible spoilers ahead!
There were a few things that I felt could have been improved, but good story overall. I got a definite Matrix feel from it, but the maybe that’s because the Matrix and litrpg stories overlap. First the good. I enjoy the leveling up, various classes and numerous quests (some silly ones like rescuing a kitten). I thought the narration was well done for the most part, though I felt the female voices didn’t sound quiet right, too breathy perhaps. The variety of characters each had their own personally.
Growth areas: The whole “enlightening” didn’t really hit home with me. For one, the main character said the word a little to often. And the throw away line at the end regarding why these particular people were enlightened didn’t seem fleshed out. The main character felt flat to me, he didn’t seem to have any real flaws. Also, since he wasn’t transported to this world (like traditional litrpg stories) I didn’t feel there was any grounding for his character. I don’t feel worried that he will die because even though he is enlightened, he is still code. The story was okay but I think it should have ended half way through when the character became lionheart. The future series could have expanded upon this. As is, he became lionheart, became OP and then completed more quests. The emotional impact of seeing his friend die at the halfway point (but the characters own hand) should have had more of emotional impact in the MC. He character acquiring new and improved armor was cool, but I didn’t need it listed as it was. I get that that is how it is in a mmorpg, but narration-wise, it became tedious to listen to.
All that said, I did enjoy the series and would give the second book a try if it comes out. The author set a good end point for this story, but I think each story needs a main bad guy so that the ending can feel worth it. Thanks to the author for this promotional copy and keep up the good work.

Its like getting to be a MMO Character!
If you could sum up The Lionheart: A LitRPG Novel in three words, what would they be?
Fun, Funny, and Thought-provoking
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the character progression of the main character. The way that he is put through small task makes you feel that your right beside him leveling up in this world.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when the main character gets this feeling that he shouldn't be hurting the NPC just because he was told to do so for a quest.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, too much to put here. The whole book was moving and makes you think about what if my toon in WoW started to feel and strayed from the path I was leading him on.
Any additional comments?
This review comes from reddit user Sealfood. Thanks for a great listen. I'm looking forward to the next book! Keep up the good work.

Slow, boring, and it reads poorly
When listening/reading this book it feels as if the author didn’t really want to be writing this book or at the very least parts of the book. Some parts of the story skip by, the protagonist just skipping through levels. other parts of the book are poorly detailed with an extremeness that makes you feel as if the author wants to get something across but doesn’t know how. This story is incomplete, with parts of quests and information being passed by that makes you as a reader feel incomplete, bored, or confused. I myself fell asleep while listening to this audiobook.
