About this listen

This is my story of living for four years with Long-COVID, manifesting in me as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), as well as my ultimate victory over these illnesses through miraculous, cutting-edge medical treatment. The book is a memoir and includes journal entries shared on Facebook about my immense suffering through the years, as well as scores of poems I wrote about my illnesses, plus published research into many aspects of the book. In the book, you will discover a possible cure for Long-COVID, ME/CFS, and POTS, and see empirical evidence of how hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) gave me back my life.

The book contains nine chapters, plus an introduction and brief postscript. The introduction lays out what the book is about and introduces and defines key terms addressed throughout the book. Chapter one lays briefly introduces my life before I got sick with COVID, and chapter two discusses my COVID sickness I experienced in early 2020. In chapter three, I begin to lay out the mysterious symptoms I began to experience after my COVID infection, something I would learn definitively two years later to be caused by the illness now known as long-COVID. Chapter four lays out my efforts to get help from the medical profession over the years, largely before I even knew definitively was wrong with me. You’ll read about all the faulty diagnoses I received and frustrations I had associated with having a condition that many doctors did not even know about. In chapter five, I discuss finally being properly diagnosed with long-COVID, ME/CFS, and POTS at the Bateman Horne Clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah, and starting a process of treating and improving my symptoms by eighty percent of two years. Chapter six lays out how I learned about the Aviv Clinics in the Villages, Florida and discusses the difficult decision-making involved in considering being a patient there. Chapter seven lays out in great detail what I experienced at Aviv, including my daily activities and treatments, as well as empirical evidence with regard to all the vast improvements I experienced as a patient there. In chapter eight, I discuss my life after Aviv, where I am now living as a healed and healthy person. And in chapter nine, I lay out in great detail facts about Aviv for anyone who is considering becoming a patient there.

Overall, the book tells a powerful story about unimaginable suffering, resilience in face of seemingly hopeless medical conditions, and ultimately a recovery that really no one thought would be possible.
