About this listen

Lawrence Beesley was a passenger on the Titanic's maiden voyage and therefore a survivor of its tragic loss.

In this audiobook he narrates the circumstances of the ship's collision with an iceberg and the strange unexpected behaviour of the passengers, who found it hard to believe anything at all had happened.

One of the best first-hand accounts of the sinking. Definitely recommend to anyone seeking survivor accounts.

Best survivor account.

seems to gives an account different from most of modern drama/Hollywood. and makes points that even I, a avid fan of Titanic, was unaware of until today.

Well done and a wonderful account.

Mr Beesley’s account of that fateful night’s tragedy is lucid and sobering. His account is consistent with most of the scientific evidence attributed to date.

First Hand Account. Reliable Account.

Insightful and thought-provoking, an attempt to set the record straight and separate the fact from fiction for the historical record. it was a little dry and took a while to get into, but it was well worth the read. I enjoyed his thoughtful and factual account and the lessons he took away from the experience. Many of them still hold true all this time later, even though we've learned more about the circumstances and causes in recent years.

A thoughtful account of his own experience

I confess to a mild obsession regarding the disaster but in the case of this audiobook and the narrator, it did not matter. I simply could not stop listening.

Wonderfully Spellbinding

I've always been interested in the Titanic and I try to read anything I can in it. This was the 1st book I've read where it was just straight information in a story, with no extra plot. I also really enjoyed the narrative of it.

Good overall book

Very interesting narrative from a Titanic surviver. A must read. Many of its themes are still relevant today.

Compelling story...
