About this listen

During fifty years of publishing the “Bible of Rock and Roll,” Jann Wenner recorded a series of interviews that are now regarded among the most important historical documents of rock. From the hubris and pissed-off attitude of Pete Townshend, to the volcano that was John Lennon after the breakup of the Beatles, to Bono, using music to speak to God, these interviews reveal the beating hearts of six creative giants.

Including a never-before-heard interview with Bruce Springsteen, The Masters intimately profiles the extraordinary musicians who dominated rock and roll, from London and California to New York and L.A.. This is a fly-on-the wall listening experience, cultural masterpiece, and must-have recording, bringing you closer to the artists who changed history.

Majority of the Jerry Garcia section is completely muddled and unintelligible. Lennon’s interview is fascinating.

Unintelligible recordings.

While the stories are or should be very interesting, this recording is beyond BAD in quality and clarity. The sound volumes of Jan and the various folks are all over the chart and barely able to be heard. I finally gave up on the section with Garcia and said lesson learned and a wrong purchase!

Interesting Concept, Very Very Hard to Understand
