Publisher's summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

He is known as Wilde, the boy from the woods.

Discovered living a feral existence in the Ramapo mountains of New Jersey, he has grown up knowing nothing of his parents and even less about his own identity.

Until now.

When a match on a DNA database puts him on the trail of a close relative - the only family member he has ever known - Wilde thinks he might be about to solve the mystery of who he really is.

Only this relation disappears as quickly as he's resurfaced. Undaunted, Wilde continues his research, becoming caught up in a secret community committed to exposing anonymous online trolls.

Then one by one, people start to die, and it soon becomes clear that a serial killer is targeting this secret community. And that the next victim could be Wilde himself.

Wow... just wow!

This was the best Harlan Coben novel I have listed to. From start to finish no air time, great story and character development. Kept me at the edge of my seat. And Steven Weber's delivery was just as good. You will not be dissapointed

Great listen

This is a sequel to "The Boy From the Woods" and though it has its own separate story, there is enough carry over from the first book that you really shouldn't read this one on its own or first. There is a serious amount of character development on Wilde's part, and I wonder now if there will be a third book in this series. It's a possibility, but I can also see it being just two books with the way this ended. There are some twists and turns and for a minute here and there I had a hard time following all the family tree issues, but overall I didn't want to put this down, and I think I actually enjoyed it a little more than "The Boy From the Woods" because I felt like the ending was a little less tidy.

Steven Webber's performance for the audiobook was outstanding once again, and he is easily my favorite narrator from what I've listened to so far. He's the main reason that I listened to these books in the first place, but I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and mystery as well. The ending of this one was more satisfying than I expected, and if this is it for Wilde, I'm glad I was able to come along for the ride.

Mediocre at best

The story is okay - mostly. The end was cringeworthy. It was less than I expected. Where I was supposed to be on the edge if my seat, I was like “yawn… go on.”
The recording has weird bits of repetition from (more or less) chapter 30 - not great to listen to.
