About this listen
Stanley is almost fifty. He hates his job, has an overbearing mother, and is in a failed relationship. Then he meets Asher, the man of his dreams, literally in his dreams.
Asher is young, captivating, and confident about his future—everything Stanley is not. So, Asher gives Stan a gift. The chance to be an extra five years younger each time they meet.
Some of their adventures are whimsical. A few are challenging. Others are totally surreal. All are designed to bring Stan closer to the moment his joyful childhood turned to tears.
But when they fall in love, Stan knows he can’t live in Asher’s dreamworld. Yet he is haunted by Asher’s invitation to “slip into eternal sleep.”

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

For audiobook listeners, the narration amplifies the suspense, making the tense moments even more palpable. The narrator’s tone and pacing perfectly complement the story's dark, eerie vibe, capturing every gasp, pause, and whisper with precision.
The Midnight Man is a standout read for fans of dark thrillers with supernatural twists. It’s an immersive experience that lingers well after the final page, challenging readers to face their own fears in the dead of night.

Engaging Moments, Expertly Delivered
This story has a depth that invites you to slow down and fully take in every detail, allowing its layers to gradually reveal themselves. It’s a journey that’s both immersive and rewarding, where you can connect with the characters and their experiences as they unfold. Though it occasionally becomes intricate, giving it your full attention makes the story even more meaningful. I found myself pausing to let the emotions sink in, absorbing the plot twists and subtle moments. I had mixed hopes for how it might end, but the resolution was truly satisfying, blending anticipation with a rich, memorable journey.
The narrator truly brought this story to life, pacing it thoughtfully and emphasizing just the right moments. Their approach felt skillful and added a fun, engaging layer that kept each scene vivid and enjoyable.
Five stars all around!!!

Midnight Man
This was a bit too sex filled for me.The storyline was interesting, though a bit confusing. Narration by Laurence Stirling Knott was well done. I was given this book free for an honest review.
