About this listen

A wonderfully atmospheric collection of stories from one of our most captivating writers, inspired by ghost stories, traditional folk tales and country legends from England and France.

These tales are richly populated by spirits and ghosts seeking revenge; by grief-stricken women and haunted men coming to terms with their destiny - all rooted deep in the elemental landscapes of Sussex, Brittany and the Languedoc.

The collection will include The Mistletoe Bride, La Fille de Melisande, Red Letter Day, The Lending Library, The House on the Hill

Stories read by Simon Russell Beale and Sian Thomas and author's notes and introductions read by Kate Mosse.

Where does The Mistletoe Bride and Other Haunting Tales rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very highly and I will definitely listen again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Maybe the Mistletoe Bride, but really my favourite was the Kate Mosse herself. I was extremely interested in listening to the author's notes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say an extreme reaction but most of the stories evoked emotions within me.

Any additional comments?

I loved the author's belief in the importance of history as told through the lives of everyday people, rather than solely political or royal figures.
