About this listen
Esteemed Pennsylvania State University professor Robert C. Shaler continues his in-depth look at all aspects of crime scene investigation in part two of this compelling lecture series. Popularized in the media by highly rated police procedurals, crime scene investigation is an often misunderstood field of endeavor. Here, Professor Shaler breaks down the intricacies of how investigations are conducted in the real world, examining such aspects as bloodstain analysis, shooting scenes, and “forensic bugs”.

Going through both parts, might have skipped some stuff and a lot of it is complicated, for high intelligent people only.

I liked it
I saw a lot of complaints about the author doing the narration, but personally I didn’t mind. It gave me the feeling that I was actually sitting in a college lecture. He’s extremely knowledgeable and you can really develop a good foundation in crime scene investigation from the material. There’s a glitch around 7:04 in Chapter 6: it repeated the beginning of the chapter then skipped back to where it was supposed to be. That was the only performance issue I noticed.

Much better than Part I
Part II is much better than the previous part, with much more useful information. The narrator (author) is still something of a rough hand as reading his own words, but a little smoother than in Part I. The wording is still a bit crude in style. And the arrogance is still there in abundance, but so too are basics in CSI information for the new student. This part is worth the time to study. And as a second part to a larger work, it validates reading/listening to Part I.
