About this listen

A new neighbor with a secret identity and a deadly obsession…

Amelie: I knew I shouldn't have asked him for a ride. My new neighbor is a study in contradictions—covered in tattoos and dripping intensity. He’s alluring yet aloof, and his every calculated move is dangerously seductive. Little did I know, he’s been systematically inserting himself into every part of my life. Creeping beneath my protective armor. Trapping me like a fly in his web before revealing his true identity.

Now, he’s standing before our families calling me his future wife. He doesn’t understand that my life isn’t that simple. I have secrets of my own, and his obsession with claiming me might just get me killed.

Content warnings: Devil's Thirst contains references to past S/A (not between the main couple) and might not be suitable for listeners sensitive to the subject. For a more detailed list of possible content triggers, you can visit the books tab on my website.

For those of you who are new to me, I write what I'd call "mafia lite." My heroes are hardened criminals with soft spots for their heroines. There may be violence and cruelty in my books, but never between the main characters. Enjoy!

Great narrators, good story

Overall 3.5-4 stars.

Narrators did a great job. I loved listening to both of them.

First half 3 stars. When I started this, it felt like I was dropped into the middle of the story. I haven't looked into it but I'm pretty sure there is another series that this book is spun off from. So for the first half, I wasn't connecting with the characters at all.

Second half, 4-4.25 stars. Once this book hit the middle section I felt more connected to the characters and things were clicking and more interesting things started happening.

This ended up being a really fun read.

Seductive

This audio was delicious from start to finish. The narrators chemistry is so palpable that you would think they have been working together for years. The emotion and conviction was so believable that I felt like I was right there with the characters! Loved this story and audio so much!!!! Highly recommend!

A great mafia romance

The audio book for Devils Thirst was amazing, Brooke Daniels and Peter Alden were the perfect pair to play Amelie and Sante. Sante was the a top tier obsessed MMC, and I loved all the things he did to put himself back in her life. Amelie was such a sweet soul that lived through horrific trauma at the hands of her mother. Little did Amelie know that a chance encounter four years earlier would change her life in ways she couldn’t imagine. Who’s the stalker? Why has he been watching her? And who is this super hot new neighbor? The whole book was amazing, I love any book where the men will do anything to keep their women safe, and Sante delivers. The narrators really added that extra something and brought the story to life.

Secrets? Obsession? Yes, please!

This book had me hooked from the opening line. He’s not who he says he is, and she’s hiding more than she lets on. With lies standing between them, you can’t help but wonder: can they ever learn to trust each other?

Don’t even get me started on Sante. His possessiveness and obsessive devotion were next-level.

Brooke Daniel’s nailed it with her character depth and storytelling—she crushed it!

This was my first Jill Ramsower book, but it definitely won’t be my last.

If you’re a fan of mafia romance, run to grab this one. You’ll thank me later!

Thank you so much to Jill Ramsower and Valentine PR for sending me this ALC!

Dark and stormy

Good overall and an easy listen - I devoured in one day. I enjoyed the dynamic between Sante & Amelie.

Stalker Romance!

Alpha anti-hero and obsessed stalker? Umm, yes please!!! Amelie and Sante met about four years ago and when Sante returns he becomes obsessed with Amelie. He stalks her, watches her dance, and moves in next door to her. Amelie has no idea who he is as he carefully inserts himself in her life and calls her his wife. Amelie though, she has some secrets and is terrified. If you enjoy your romance a little on the darker side and your hero a little unhinged, you should definitely try this one! Brooke Daniels & Peter Alden do a fantastic job bringing their characters to life. I highly recommend the audiobook!

Audiobook review

The tropes of this book sounded interesting, and had me sold. Getting into the story I was interested, further on into the book however it fell flat for me . So much build up and the execution didn’t hit for me .

Brooke Daniel’s did an excellent job bring the story to life.

I felt that the MMC voice didn’t match the personality of the character. Which made it difficult to continue.

At the end the plot twist reveal while intense I felt like it was forgiven almost instantly, as well as the big bad was defeated immediately.

Overall, the book fell flat for me .

slow burn romantic suspense

I’ve loved the books I’ve read from this universe so far (okay, maybe that’s biased bc it’s only been two). I can happily say that Jill Ramsower is a master at writing romantic suspense. Sante was completely obsessed and possessive of Amelie. They met during her sister’s wedding... four years ago. He then spends his time obsessing over her in every thought of his. And, though he’s down bad for her, their story is a slow burn.

Twisted but sweet

I always love a good stalker to lover romance. This one did not disappoint. There is also some mafia thrown in here too. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.

Sante and Amelie

I really liked this story. I love a good stalker story and this one was great.

Amelie is a ballerina who starts noticing a dark figure watching her while she is practicing alone in the theater on more than one occasion. Sante has just moved back to town and is living across the hall from Amelie and finds out that someone is stalking Amelie and steps up to help. But things are not as simple as that in these stories and this one dose not disappoint.

I was not too impressed by the narrators on this book. The female did good till it came time to do a male voice...and really dropped the ball there, for me that made it hard to listen to. The male narrator did great but I just felt his voice didn't fit the character, he came across as too nice, not as gruff as i would have expected.

I was given an ALC to listen to and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
