About this listen

Not one, but two dead bodies are discovered on a French golf course, leaving Hercule Poirot to unravel a grisly conundrum.

Hercule Poirot receives an urgent cry for help from a client summoning him to France. But he is too late, and arrives to find his client face down in a shallow grave on a golf course, brutally stabbed to death, and dressed in a too-large overcoat with an impassioned love letter in the pocket.

With a long line of suspects including the victim's wife, his embittered son, and his mistress, Poirot works to unravel the mystery.

But before Poirot can discover the meaning of the clues, a second, identically murdered corpse is found....

Amazing Story all the way to the end. I can't believe that one person had all the different voices for all the different characters in the story except for the lady.

Amazing story

Papa Poirot faces off against an arrogant young detective in this story of 2 men who appear to have been stabbed with the same knife. The resolution is highly satisfactory.

A heartwarming tale of murder

Nothing better than Agatha C to make a long road trip entertaining. Pay attention and take a few breaks - it’s complicated yet and funny at times.

You will be speaking English with a French accent by the end

This is an intriguing book up until the last chapter! You can’t help but be captivated by Hercule Poirot and this book nods to his sensitive side as well as he cares for those around him. I’d say it really picks up mid way through and by then you’re hooked on the characters!

A classic Agatha Christie!

... and in this case the revered mistress! Great story, good narration and of course the incomparable Hercule Poroit. Elegant prose and enough twists to keep you guessing to the end, I can only hope Kenneth Branagh continues doing his wonderful movies!

Hard to beat the old masters

It is fun to go back and hear how Christie developed her famous detective. Hastings is particularly distracted in this investigation, and Poirot sits back and waits for the real murderers to reveal themselves, even though he’s known all along. This isn’t the most gripping tale, a bit convoluted with the back story, but Christie weaves in a love story, and we want to find out what’s what. The audio is good. John Rubenstein does a great job giving voice to the various characters, so it seems unnecessary to have a second reader, a woman, for the character of Cinderella.

Amazingly written for its time. The story line was great. The plot twist was one that I was not expecting at all. I loved it so much.

Love the readers

I enjoyed it. I find Mr. Poirot a little annoying at times but overall these stories are an entertaining read. The narrator was pleasant to listen to and it was nice to hear another voice mixed in as well. Plenty of twists in this one.

Satisfying
