What if Princess Diana hadn't died in the Paris car crash in 1997? What if there had been no crash? What if she'd converted to Islam and married Dodi Fayed?

In this alternate reality, Prince William succeeds to the throne and his mother, Princess Diana, rejoins the Royal Family as a Muslim Queen Mother. Meanwhile, her grandson James, the next in line to the throne, is under the spell of a Saudi Arabian Princess who want him to convert and become the first Muslim King of England.

If histtory could be rewritten...

How many times have you wished that history was different, that you could go back in time and change a decision you have made?
The author rewrote history, Diana didn't die and the eldest son of William is called James. James converted to Islam, Diana and Dodi married and influenced him a lot. He fell in love with a Saudi princess after it was arranged that the two of them meet a lot and communicate over the years.
What happens if everyone and everything seems to be against a certain couple? They seem to be pushed towards each other...
It's an interesting take on the way the English government retaliate to the situation...

SURPRISE

I didn't know what to expect from this book and was definitely pleasantly surprised. This would get all the conspiracy theorists rubbing their hands together regarding Diana's death. I would recommend it if you are in a book club as it's one of those books you really want to talk over with someone. The ending was abrupt but when I think about it there is no way to really end a book on this subject. Give it a go. It will get you thinking

a second chance???

I thought I was getting my hea that I didn't get in real life. Then, the decedents are in peril, and I'm reliving that nightmare all over again. Way to wreck me twice. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Interesting story

The author expertly weaves a tale about a future in which princess Diana didn't die in a fiery crash. The narration is top notch making this a very enjoyable experience.

Stunning thought experiment

This is a very interesting (if short) listen. Ley manages to create a fluid cross over between was and could have been. I find the thought experiment of what would have transpired "if"...very intelligently executed.

Quite compelling. Solidly put together, i think, the characters themselves have a very interesting family dynamic and from what I gather it is very well written in the style of middle eastern family and wording. It is a solid guess as to how new aristocracy would impact (upper classes, at least) and what powerplay one could imagine.

The task of grasping how one of the pivotal (royal) families would react to such a fundamental change on the religious bedrock is daunting. It has, of course happened, but thats hundreds of years past so putting it into amodern context is absolutely wild.

The genre has me a bit stumped. Its not utopian. Certainly not dystopian. It isnt a lovestory albeit love and family are a theme. It isnt edge of your seat excitingly gripping but calmly and deliberately drawing. I start wondering "what if?" and that wonder makes this book a real treat.

The narration is solid. Nothing extraordinary in terms of characters' individual style but a pleasant listen. The performance sort of lowers the speed - something i usually observe in conversation with middle eastern People. There is a strong sense of deliberateness, which is quite fitting for the context.

One thing that tickles me is the connection to Ley's other stories, which is quite fascinating. Enough said.

I think this id enjoy able for those who like to challenge the status quo and do thought experiments.

nice audiobook! Not as good as chronoscape.

I found this audiobook to be a little boring in the first part, but it's well worth reading. If you love alternate history it's a must read!

An Amazing Take on a Twist in History

The Muslim Prince is an amazing read about a unique twist in history. What IF Princess Diana, the beloved princess, had not been in that car crash? What IF she and Dodi had survived and their love blossomed into something eternal?

Author Roger Ley had me hooked by page 2. All these “what if’s” answered and lived out through his perspective. So many aspects of mixed cultures and the outcome of their love changing the way countries think and act towards each other.

Narrator Charles Bowles has the perfect voice to act out the dialogue. His ability to change certain aspects of his accent kept me in Mr. Ley’s alternate adventure on every twist and turn. The Muslim Prince is a great audiobook and you’ll find yourself finding reasons to keep listening!

This audiobook was given to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

A unique, alternative future of Britain

Received as a review copy from the author, this is an honest review. Narrated by Craig Bowles, this is really intriguing alternative history story surrounding what if Diana had lived and married Dodi Fayed. The story that is centered around the relationship between prince James and princess Malika of Saudi Arabia and how their deepening companionship and upcoming marriage will alter the British monarchy. For some influential people within the government, they aren't happy with the relationship but are disturbed that James has become a Muslim; and they hatch a way to the two apart with tragic consequences. It's a wickedly smart story that makes you think about who has the right to determine who a person loves and the stark viewpoints surrounding beliefs about other religions. Highly recommended.

An add in to the book Chronoscape. Very well written & developed. Both books complement each other. Narration was very good & easy to listen to.
