Basketball!

Take a moment to step into a moment in time that truly did exist for some. This book captures so much of what LOVE AND BASKETBALL really was for a lot of us. The dynamics hitting so close to home that I couldn’t stop listening.

When you may have just read about your own life

I binged this book hard. I loved all the characters, I felt for them and was totally invested in their struggles. Mix in some great basketball and lesbians and I was sold. It didn't end up like I had hoped, but it was an honest ending.

Beautiful and bittersweet

Although it is set in the 80s, the story rings true even to this day.

The Protagonist is comfortable in her skin, but still shows her vulnerability when she strongly feels about things.

The narrative and tone of the different to modern books did not detract, but rather drew me in. I couldn't let it go, and didn't want it to end, even though it was inevitable.

World recommend this book to anyone.

I’m not a fan of the new word requirement for reviews, but I’ll do it anyway because a lot of people won’t bother (for same reason). This book is worth the extra effort. I thought the performance was superb and the storyline so nuanced and compelling. Well done!

SO GOOD!

The author takes you through a story and builds up a “love” to create a live story, but it feels one sided, and the live story doesn’t finish with a happy love ending. It’s a good story, but not such a cataclysmic ending.
