About this listen

A rash of grave robberies. A cursed barrow. A case that will test the balance between magic and law.

When bodies go missing, the Academy of Arcane Arts assigns the case to Apprentice Mage Idun Wintermoon. With the jarl's liaison for all things magical, Lissette Forlatt, and her best friend, the giant Njal, they try to track the thief.

But the closer they get to answers, the further away from truth they find themselves. When a series of strange visions brings Lissette to the ruins of the long abandoned goblin kingdom, they descend into a dark and terrible world of magic and secrets.

They're in a race against time as they try to stop the Necromancer. But to get to her, they have to tread where the dead sleep - or worse, don't.

And if they're not careful, they'll end up forgotten denizens of the undead themselves.

I was as entertained by book two as the first book in the series. I liked the characters: Idun, Lissette, Njal, and Tanya. I appreciated the journey Idun, Lissette, and Njal undertook to try and find out who and why graves were being disturbed. I enjoyed the almost non-stop action. Although there were some references to intimate details, I appreciated that those incidences were without much detail. This book was narrated by a new AI tool which Susan Marlowe used to produce a voice replica which I found amazing at how real the narration sounded. I was given a free copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this story.

The Necromancer (Sellswords & Spellweavers, #2), my sixty-third read from prolific author Rachel Ford. A book I first read back in 2020. No matter the genre a Rachel Ford book can be counted on to be entertaining & enjoyable, so when I was gifted an Audible copy of this book I eagerly re-read it & am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Judas Kiss (Unholy Trinity Book 2) next on my TBR list from this author. Story was not that good, which might be because narration was so poor. Narration did not pronounce the characters names anything like in the 1st book, leaving listener to try to figure out who they were. Also the voices of the 2 female main characters was the exact same, so now you had know idea who was speaking, this cause confusion.
I will Not continue this Series. I Do Not Recommend!!
