Editorial reviews

The acclaimed theater actor John Cunningham performs a wonderful telling of this dreamy tale with dramatic narration and perfect enunciation. Gentle guitar and piano music fade in and out of the background as Cunningham tells the story of the two determined but seemingly star-crossed lovers. An older recording, the sound quality here has the atmospheric feel of a vinyl record, which is no bad thing. This would be a wonderful audiobook to play in the background as a young child falls into slumber.
