About this listen

What is the true root of royal blood? A young Viking prince is stranded in a strange world with nothing but a band of gold. Through the turmoil of history, the band of gold is passed from generation to generation.

Encounter the struggles of Jeanne of Arc, the strife of the persecuted Huguenots, and the perils of the American Frontier. Follow this convoluted, yet heroic path to the making of one of history's greatest leaders.

The 39 Steps (Buchan's first book) was not brilliantly written, but was interesting and reasonably compelling. This book is not I think as good, but, with apologies if the narrator is still alive, the combination of the text and the narrator are such that time is spent better on other books, or endeavors. I think it would be rude to be more specific. Just, not this book.

Alas, not even worth it for free

the character voices were okay but the intermediate story reading was so drab, dull. I'm sorry I love Buchan's books. I have read them heard them in audio a radio plays. this was dissatisfying I couldn't get through it. I usually stick with it, even when reading I have only not finished one book even if I didn't like them out of respect.
sigh

what a disappointment. bland reading.
