About this listen

The Persecution of Core Values: How Hollywood, Rap Culture, Silicon Valley, & Social Media Are Destroying America is a book is about the current lack of core values that is plaguing our society due to the poor role models we are promoting. The culture that our social media has created is devoid of values. The system rewards outrageous acts over positivity. The worst part is no one is doing anything to fix it.

This discussion integrates the core values of integrity, service, and excellence with stories that show the disdain our culture has for them by the influencers we follow. It examines real-world examples of "influencers" providing poor examples for their followers resulting in a society the values hedonistic activities of morality. People rewarded for influencing others to engage in online activities that defy offline laws or customs. There are no rules against it so this makes it seem like it is okay.

If we want to fix the injustices of our world, we must ensure we are creating a society based on values instead of materialism. This book addresses this culture giving positive examples for change for all people to follow.

Will you choose to be a laggard or leader? It is up to you.

Sheds great light

I like the unfiltered way of making us aware of how bad "influencers" are and the power they have. Great reminder to them to do better. I hope more, especially generations to come take a moment to listen to this book and open their eyes to better possibilities.

A much needed book for our times

The author does a great job of pointing back to basic moral and human characteristics that are so important to being good, upstanding citizens. The lack of prudence in America today is easier for adults to ignore, but the strong influence of sex, drugs, and general filth for kids is seriously harmful and we must work to stop it. This book was a great reminder of my values and it pushes me to stand for them always.
