About this listen

In his nightly ritual of trolling dude-bros online, college student and hacker Hunter Walsh uncovers a terrorist plot to bomb Seattle Pride. When his digging hits a wall, he anonymously surrenders his findings to the FBI—only to discover he didn't cover his tracks as well as he'd thought. Agent Callum Riggs shows up on his doorstep with an ultimatum: Help the FBI find the culprits or face jail time for his hacking. Hunter hates and mistrusts the Fed, but he has no other choice.

Straight-arrow Cal has better things to do than babysit a pink-haired criminal—even if Hunter is everything Cal wants and has never let himself have—but he can't ignore the lethal threat Liberty Association poses to their community. When the Bureau refuses to allocate more resources to the case, Cal is forced into a devil's bargain, not only tolerating Hunter's rebellious behavior in exchange for his help but serving as Hunter's personal bodyguard 24/7.

Will these total opposites work together to foil a deadly plot? Or will their constant bickering and seething sexual tension endanger everything both men hold dear? And if they do succeed, can enemies become lovers, or will their differences keep them apart?

Good Story but Virtual Voice did it no favors.

I understand that not everyone can afford a human narrator and I appreciate getting to hear this story since I have a hard time reading a book with my busy schedule. That being said, the AI narrator can only do so much. There is no tonal inflection or change of voice to differentiate one speaker from another.

With the complaining out of the way, I will say that after reading the blurb I wanted to read / hear this story and was willing to deal with the AI Narrator. I truly enjoyed the story and am looking forward to where it goes in the next book. I wished Hunter and Cal would have had better communication, especially Cal who is an FBI agent. But, miscommunication is something I'm used to reading in romance novels. I liked that the authors seemed to know what they were talking about with the technical stuff. As an IT professional myself I was impressed that they came pretty close to how things work in reality.

I know it's virtual voice but I'm glad I took a chance!

alright so it's virtual voice and with that it means no emotion and a few mispronounced words. ( ugh came out so silly) but hey that can even happen with live narators. It is a little confusing since there isn't two distinct voices within the narration like most voice actors do however I throughly enjoyed the story. the bzzzz of phones also was so funny I almost laughed out loud in a totally not appropriate place lol

things I liked: the depth of hunters character and I liked Riggs too although he is soooo uptight byt that drew me in because they both seemed like they could be real people the story was intriguing and entertaining. there was some danger, excitement, drama, will they won't they romance. Bru is a fun add to the story the silly lil dog is great.

oh trigger warning ( which I think all audio books should start doing before you read ) there is recreational drug use and drinking, but then there is a date rape drugging and attempted assualt that is stopped.
