Fascinating topic

I had heard a lot about Somatic therapy from a friend, but I wanted to go a little deeper with it. This was perfect for me. It was well-organized and easy to follow, and the narrator is spectacular. I got a lot out of it.

A Gentler Path to Healing

This book on somatic therapy has been important for my recovery. It has helped me reconnect and restore the vital mind-body relationship. The various skills on breathwork, body awareness and movement have helped me open new doors to freedom from emotional entrapment and trauma. I especially enjoyed the chapter on titration, slowing down, learning to take things step by step rather than pushing myself and depriving myself of a better life by insisting on healing at my own pace. Learning to pace my recovery has been a way of being kinder to myself, which is crucial to trauma recovery. For anyone suffering from past trauma or abuse, I would say that this book offers a compassionate and effective way to heal.

Readers who are new to Somatic practices would find this book helpful. It explains the connection between the mind and body in a great way. I learned how stress can be stored in the body leading to other issues. I think the book was nicely narrated. I highly suggest checking it out.

Caring for one-self and heal

Oprah says… Fill your cup until it overflows. We need to take care of ourselves in order to be able to be present to others, and free from creating other traumas for them - through personal relationships or even societal relationships. A book like this is so important, because the compounding effects of releasing traumas (or not releasing it) is tremendous on one’s life. Please please, listen carefully to this book and hear your inner voice guide you to the next step. Somatic therapy is a beautiful way through experiencing a much more

Somatic Therapy is so much more powerful than I kn

If you want to improve your resilience and capacity to deal with life’s stresses, this book can help you. I was impressed with the vast number of practical tools that were provided. Mindfulness was a big message but was broken into more categories than I had ever considered. There were several breathing techniques that I have begun to incorporate when I am driving or waiting in line for my groceries to check out. The other thing that immediately applied to me was tensing your muscle groups and then relaxing. I did not know how much stress I was holding in my body. This has helped me realize that.
